This is the successor to the NAVITIMER TWINSIXTY, which was unveiled at Basel in 1997.
The "TWINSIXTY II" was announced in 1999 and was only manufactured for one year.
It is a chronograph that features the world's first two types of "60-minute" totalizers, which is where the model name comes from.
While the previous model had bar indices on the dial, the "TWINSIXTY II" adopted Arabic indices, improving legibility.
The first totalizer has two chronograph hands coaxially arranged in the center (displaying minutes and seconds), with the minute and second hands moving in conjunction.
The second totalizer has two chronograph hands coaxially arranged at the 6 o'clock position (displaying hours and minutes). Its biggest feature is that elapsed time can be read as "hours and minutes," similar to how one would read regular time.
As an example from the image of the chronograph in operation, the elapsed time is "0 hours, 55 minutes, 22 seconds."
Although this model has many numerical displays on the inner and outer scales, you can now smoothly grasp the elapsed time by looking at the second totalizer at the 6 o'clock position and the chronograph second hand.
This model is recommended for those looking for a rare model, those who prefer models without a calendar, or those looking for a smaller Navitimer than the current 46mm and 43mm models.
