This is a Rado Balboa Great, a model that gained popularity for its hardmetal case.
The Balboa series adopted "Hardmetal" for its excellent durability from around the 1960s to the 1970s.
This is a glamorous model featuring a seven-faceted crystal and a brown gradient dial.
The dial at the 12 o'clock position features Rado's brand symbol, the "anchor mark" (which rotates).
The anchor mark section is designed to reveal the movement's Incabloc shock absorption system, making it a very rare and elaborate design befitting a high-end model (please refer to the second image).
The case back is a screw-back type with engravings of three seahorses.
The crown also features the anchor mark.
The bracelet is a valuable genuine item with the RADO engraving on the buckle.
How to Operate
Manual Winding: Rotate the crown upwards in the normal position.
Due to the crown's recessed design within the case, manual winding can be difficult.
Time Setting: Pull the crown out two clicks and rotate it downwards (the second hand stops when pulled out two clicks).
Date Quick Set: Pull the crown out one click and rotate it upwards.
While the quick-set function is convenient, performing the quick-set operation when the watch is indicating between 9 PM and 2 AM can cause damage to the gears.
We recommend setting the time to around 6 o'clock before performing the quick-set.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled by our store and is ready for immediate use.
The crystal is in beautiful condition with no noticeable scratches.
Watches with cut glass in such good condition are becoming increasingly rare over the years.
Due to its age, please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days, and use it as a non-waterproof watch.
