商品説明
This is a 1960s self-winding wristwatch from Benrus, an American brand founded in 1921.
Since its establishment, Benrus has been a watch manufacturer that imported movements from Switzerland and assembled and sold them in America.
During World War II, it became a government-contracted manufacturer of military watches, earning renown.
With the expanding demand for mechanical watches after the war, while other American watch manufacturers struggled to procure movements, Benrus, having established connections with Switzerland from its inception, captured the demand and achieved rapid growth.
This particular model features a Swiss-made movement from its heyday.
It adopts a one-piece case with an integrated back to enhance water resistance (at the time of its performance).
The dial has a nice overall patina, giving it a champagne gold hue.
The vertical hairline finish creates shading depending on the angle of light, changing its appearance.
The applied bar indexes are intricately designed, with the left side painted black and the right side silver with a brushed finish.
At the 12 o'clock position, it has "BENRUS" and the "★★★" mark, and at the 6 o'clock position, "SELFWINDING" is placed.
The hour and minute hands have an unusual bifurcated tip.
The crown is original, featuring a three-dimensional three-star emblem.
The installed movement is ETA's Cal.2452, with manual winding and a date display.
The date can be advanced day by day by moving the hands back and forth between 9 PM and 12 AM.
Operating Instructions
How to pull the crown: Insert your fingernail between the case and the crown and move it like a lever.
When pulling the crown, it is easier to insert your fingernails between the crown and the case from both the front and back.
Please remove the watch from your wrist to operate it.
Gentle operation reduces strain on the crown and prevents it from coming off.
Manual winding: With the crown in its normal position, rotate it upwards.
Setting the time: Pull the crown and rotate it downwards.
The second hand does not stop.
Quick-setting the date: Pull the crown and move the hands back and forth between "8:30 PM to 12:20 AM" for time adjustment.
1) Move the hands to 12 AM (24:00).
If the date starts to change, it's 12 AM. If it doesn't change, it's 12 PM.
2) Move the hands to 12:20 AM and confirm the date has changed, then move the hands back to 8:30 PM.
This prepares the watch to display the next day's calendar.
3) Advance the hands to 12:20 AM.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
Repeat steps 1) to 3) to advance the date one day at a time.
Please operate slowly to reduce strain on the movement.
Condition
This item has been overhauled and exterior finished by our store.
The belt has been replaced with a new Di-Modell one, so you can use it comfortably.
Due to the one-piece case, the crown will come out if pulled too hard.
To pull out the crown, it is easier to push your fingernail between the case and the crown from the back side (move it like a lever).
Due to its age, it is not water-resistant.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
