商品説明
This is a Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox, from the renowned manufacture.
This 1960s model is powered by the Cal. 825, the final iteration of the bumper-style (half-rotor) automatic movement designed exclusively for the Memovox.
The Cal. 825 was first introduced around 1959 and is a Memovox-exclusive movement based on the Cal. 815, with the addition of a calendar display.
As a bumper-style automatic, you can feel a distinct "click" when the rotor strikes the bumper springs.
The alarm function creates a buzzing sound as a hammer strikes a pin mounted on the case back.
To prevent the rotor from touching this pin, a curved slot is ingeniously cut into the base of the rotor.
The case is made of stainless steel and features a screw-down back with a ring.
It has two crowns, giving it the unique appearance characteristic of alarm watches.
The crown at 2 o'clock is for the alarm mainspring, while the crown at 4 o'clock is for the watch mainspring.
To wind the alarm mainspring, rotate the 2 o'clock crown upward while in the normal position.
The alarm time is set using the triangle mark on the inner rotating disc of the dial.
To activate the alarm, ensure the alarm mainspring is wound and the 2 o'clock crown is set to the normal position.
(If the 2 o'clock crown is pulled out, the alarm will not sound.)
In alarm watches from other manufacturers, the alarm is ON when the crown is pulled out, which can be concerning as the alarm will stop if the crown is accidentally pushed back in.
LeCoultre's alarm watch design is a significant advantage, as it is both intuitive and easy to use.
Please note that frequent use of vintage mechanical alarm watches can lead to component wear.
Please handle the watch with care and gentleness.
