This is a 1964 IWC automatic model.
The case and case back are solid 18K gold.
It exudes a noble atmosphere while casting a beautiful radiance.
The inside of the case back is engraved with a serial number, “0.750 18K” indicating the gold purity, and a hallmark.
The case at the 12 o'clock position also features a hallmark.
The dial features a sunburst finish with fine radial lines.
The design creates beautiful shading from the center toward the outer edge, giving it a sense of luxury.
The pearl dots placed on the outer periphery of the dial also shine elegantly.
The 12 o'clock position features the cursive "International Watch Co." branding, lending a classic vintage aesthetic.
The case is round, with the entire surface featuring a mirror finish.
The compact case design is accented by small lugs.
Since solid 18K gold is softer than stainless steel, we recommend not fastening the strap too tightly to avoid putting excessive stress on the lugs.
The crown is an original IWC part and features the "fish" logo.
While Ref. 803A also exists in stainless steel, the solid 18K gold version is extremely rare.
How to operate the Cal. 8541
How to pull the crown: Push your fingernail between the case and the crown and lever it out.
Because the crown sits flush within the case, it is easiest to pull out by inserting your fingernail between the case and the crown from the back side.
Please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
Operating it gently reduces stress on the crown and prevents it from being pulled out entirely.
Manual winding: Turn clockwise in the normal crown position.
Time setting: Pull out the crown and turn clockwise.
The second hand will stop.
Date quick-change: Pull out the crown and toggle between "11:45 PM and 12:00 AM" while setting the time.
1) Advance the hands until midnight (24:00).
If the date changes, it is midnight. If it does not change, it is noon.
2) Once you have confirmed the date has changed, move the hands back to 11:45 PM.
This prepares the movement to display the next day's date.
3) Advance the hands to 24:00.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
By repeating steps 1) through 3), you can quick-change the date one day at a time.
Please operate slowly to reduce stress on the movement.
Condition
This piece has been overhauled and the exterior refinished by our shop.
The strap has been replaced with a brand-new Di-Modell version, so you can wear it with comfort.
The crystal has been replaced with a new (compatible) part, ensuring excellent visibility of the dial.
There is no noticeable damage or staining on the dial, and it remains in extremely clean condition for its age.
As nearly half a century has passed, the watch is non-waterproof.
Please be careful to avoid impacts while wearing it.
