商品説明
This is the Revue Thommen alarm watch, the "Cricket."
The "Cricket" is famous as the model favored by various U.S. Presidents (including the 34th, Dwight D. Eisenhower).
Because the alarm sound resembles the chirping of a cricket, it is affectionately known as the "Cricket" and is a fascinating, much-discussed model.
The case is made of 925 sterling silver, offering the captivating luster unique to silver.
The silver model features decorative elements on the bezel, resulting in an elaborate design that differs from the stainless steel version.
The dial is covered in a linear geometric pattern.
This pattern, which was adopted for the Cricket series, gives off an elegant shine.
There are two mainsprings inside: one for the "alarm" and one for the "timekeeping."
Operation
Setting the time: Pull the crown out two clicks and rotate downwards.
The hands move clockwise. (Counter-clockwise movement/setting the time backwards is not possible.)
Winding the timekeeping mainspring: With the crown in the normal position, rotate downwards.
Winding the alarm mainspring: With the crown in the normal position, rotate upwards.
Setting the alarm time: Gently press the button at the 2 o'clock position to pull the crown out to the first click, then press the 2 o'clock button all the way in to pull the crown out to the second click, then rotate the crown upwards.
If you press the 2 o'clock button in one single motion, it may cause a malfunction.
Please perform the button-pressing operation in two separate steps.
The alarm hand inside the dial moves counter-clockwise. (Clockwise movement is not possible.)
Move the hand to the desired alarm time and push the crown back to the normal position to turn the alarm ON.
Turning the alarm ON: Push the crown to the normal position.
Even if the alarm is ON, it will not ring if the alarm mainspring is not wound.
When the alarm mainspring is not wound, the alarm hammer is free, so you may hear a clicking sound when shaking the watch; this is normal.
Turning the alarm OFF: Gently press the button at the 2 o'clock position to pull the crown to the first click.
Please perform this operation even if you wish to stop the alarm while it is ringing.
In the "button-pressed/crown at first click" state, the crown will spin freely; this is normal.
