This is the "Grand Prix Orient," which began production in 1961.
The Grand Prix Orient Special is the first-generation model of Orient's top-of-the-line "Grand Prix Orient." The calendar-equipped version, in particular, is extremely rare.
The movement is a high-grade specification with 25 jewels and 5-position adjustment.
The case is 14K gold-filled, emitting an elegant radiance.
The dial features a record-groove pattern and a sunray finish, creating beautiful contrasts of light and shadow.
It is appointed with a cursive logo, wedge-shaped indices, and pearl dots on the outer edge of the indices.
The dial design is luxurious, reminiscent of vintage IWC or the Patek Philippe Calatrava.
It is a masterpiece with very low circulation.
Highly recommended for those looking for an elegant antique watch.
Operating Instructions
Manual Winding: Rotate clockwise with the crown in the normal position.
How to Pull Out the Crown: Gently pull the crown out by inserting a fingernail between the case and the crown.
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come out entirely. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown stem from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
Operating it gently will reduce the burden on the crown.
Time Setting: Pull out the crown and rotate counter-clockwise.
The second hand does not stop.
Date Quick-set: With the crown pulled out, alternate between 8:25 PM and 12:00 AM to adjust.
1) Advance the hands until the date changes to confirm it is midnight.
If the date changes, it is midnight. If it does not, it is noon.
2) Once you have confirmed the date has changed, turn the hands back to 8:25 PM.
This prepares the watch to advance the calendar for the next day.
3) Advance the hands to 12:00 AM.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
By repeating steps 1) through 3), you can quick-set the date day by day.
Please operate slowly to reduce the strain on the movement.
Condition
This item has been overhauled by our shop.
The strap has been replaced with a new Di-Modell, allowing you to use it comfortably.
There is overall dullness and staining on the dial.
The crown is original.
There is a slight bend in the crown head.
There is a dent on the case back.
Due to its age, it is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Please also be careful of impacts and magnetism.
