This is the second model of the King Seiko, the non-date "44-9990" introduced in 1964.
King Seiko is a series that, alongside Seiko’s top-of-the-line "Grand Seiko," occupies the highest position, and was produced until the 1970s.
The second model is equipped with a hacking function (second-hand stop mechanism), which was omitted in the first model.
Practicality has been improved by adopting a screw-down case back (stainless steel models only).
This particular piece is a late-production second model.
The medallion on the case back of the second model was changed in stages.
Initially, the King Seiko "shield mark" was used, but around 1967, it was changed to a simple design reading only "SEIKO."
This piece is from the final model produced in 1968, and includes the Kameido (Daini Seikosha) mark below the SEIKO logo.
Operation
Manual winding: With the crown in the normal position, rotate it upwards.
How to pull out the crown: Insert a fingernail between the case and the crown, and pull it out gently.
Pulling the crown with excessive force may cause it to come out. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operation.
Operating it gently reduces the burden on the crown.
Time setting: Pull out the crown and rotate it downwards.
The second hand stops when the crown is pulled out.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and externally polished by our shop.
The strap has been replaced with a new original, so you can wear it with comfort.
The crystal has some small scratches and linear marks that could not be removed by polishing, but the dial remains highly legible.
The crown is the original piece featuring the W SEIKO logo.
There is no wear on the crown, and it operates smoothly.
When pulling out the crown, inserting your fingernail between the case and the crown will allow you to pull it out without applying unnecessary force.
The medallion on the case back is in good condition.
Due to its age, this watch is not waterproof.Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Please also be careful of shocks and magnetism.
