商品説明
The "King Seiko" is a luxury timepiece that shines brilliantly in Seiko's history. Among them, the second model, the non-date '44-9990', boasts immense popularity. Developed alongside Grand Seiko to reach the pinnacle of Japanese-made wristwatches at the time, this model has captivated many enthusiasts since its introduction in 1964 with its powerful design and practical focus.
The most distinctive feature of this particular piece is the 'shield medallion' on the case back. This design was only used on the first model and early versions of the second model, and among existing pieces, this one maintains good condition with relatively clear engravings. Another valuable aspect of this piece is that the original crown with the often-lost "W SEIKO" engraving remains intact from that era.
The dial has aged over time to a rich champagne gold, exuding the elegant charm unique to antiques. Regarding the crystal, while ensuring legibility, it respects the original aesthetic of the time, intentionally retaining subtle minor scratches and discoloration around the edges, prioritizing originality.
The internal mechanism has been fully overhauled and is currently keeping excellent time for a watch over 50 years old. The hacking (second hand stop) function, unique to this model, also operates correctly, maintaining the usability consistent with its original design. The watch comes with a new genuine Seiko leather strap, so you can wear it immediately after purchase.
This item is a non-water-resistant antique watch that is over half a century old since its manufacture. Unlike modern watches, it has a delicate nature. By handling it with care, avoiding rain, sweat, strong magnetism, and shocks, you can enjoy its charm for a long time. Please feel free to visit our store and experience this precious piece, which conveys the history of Daini Seikosha (Kameido Seikosha) to the present day.
