商品説明
This is the King Seiko Superior Chronometer Ref. 4502-8010, which carries on the legacy of Japan's first "Officially Certified Chronometer."
The 45KS was the first King Seiko model to adopt a 10-beat high-beat movement.
It is a top-tier timepiece specially designed from scratch to achieve the conflicting ideals of "high precision" and "slimness," incorporating high-frequency technology that amazed the world at the "Swiss Observatory Competition."
The most distinctive feature of the Ref. 4502-8010 is the "SUPERIOR CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" inscription at the 12 o'clock position on the dial.
This particular piece is an early model of the 4502 and features the rare "SUPERIOR" inscription found only on early models.
The movement is a high-beat Cal. 4502A, which oscillates 10 times per second, or 36,000 times per hour.
You can feel the passion and pride of Seiko's engineers of that era, poured into housing this extreme high-beat movement in a thin case just a few millimeters thick, from its sharp beat sound.
The crown is original and bears the "KS" engraving exclusive to King Seiko.
With a diameter of 5.5mm, it is easy to grasp with a finger, allowing for smooth manual winding and time setting.
The powerful form created by the edgy case and thick lugs still radiates beauty that has not faded after half a century.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and the exterior has been polished.
The crystal has minor scratches that could not be completely removed by polishing, but the time visibility is good.
The band has been replaced with a new SEIKO leather strap, making it comfortable to wear.
The medallion on the case back is in very beautiful condition, and the engravings are clear.
The dial has deepened to a champagne gold over time, allowing you to enjoy the elegant expression unique to antiques.
As a delicate mechanical watch from over half a century ago, it is not waterproof. Use in wet environments (rainy days, washing face, wearing on hot days when sweating, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Also, as a precision instrument, please be very careful about strong impacts such as dropping, and magnetic fields (smartphones, PCs, speakers, bag magnets, etc.).

About manual winding
The 45 series has a stoic design that uses a very strong mainspring to pursue high precision.
A larger mainspring winding (higher torque) leads to more stable operation.
If the winding is insufficient, the second hand may not start moving, but this is not a malfunction but a characteristic of this model that requires strong torque.
The ideal way to use it is to "replenish energy before it runs out." By carefully winding it almost to the stop on the day you wear it, you can more stably elicit the comfortable beat of this masterpiece.
Calendar quick-set
This can be operated by pulling the crown out one click.
Avoid quick-setting between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this may cause damage. (It is recommended to set the time to around 6 o'clock before operating.)
