商品説明
Among Rado's Horse series, the Green Horse has a dedicated following. Its most distinguishing feature is its 37.3mm "king size" case, which is noticeably larger than typical vintage watches. Compared to the 34mm diameter that was standard at the time, its moderate size and presence make it easy to blend with modern attire.
In terms of design, in addition to Rado's unique rotating anchor logo at the 12 o'clock position, a green seahorse, the symbol of the model, is placed at the 9 o'clock position. The block-shaped indices with faceted cuts emit a subdued glow depending on the light. Furthermore, features such as the large, easy-to-operate crown and the screw-back case with robust lugs convey the excellent craftsmanship of a practical timepiece from that era.
The internal mechanism is equipped with a reliable Swiss-made automatic movement, AS 1859. A notable detail of this particular unit is the inclusion of a "screw-type fine adjustment regulator," which is not found in standard models of the same type. This was a specification Rado adopted for its higher-end models at the time to allow for more precise rate adjustment, offering a glimpse into the manufacturer's commitment to detail that will appeal to enthusiasts.
This particular unit has undergone overhaul and exterior refinishing and maintains good condition for practical use. Furthermore, it comes with a rare genuine Rado 3-link bracelet, accommodating wrist sizes up to 185mm. The crown also retains its genuine anchor logo, making this a recommended piece for those who cherish the charm of the past.
【Handling Precautions】
■ About the Automatic Winding Mechanism
Due to servicing, the rotor in this timepiece now rotates smoothly. When winding is necessary, please limit it to "gently swaying" the watch to minimize strain on the movement. Daily arm movements are usually sufficient for winding, so please use it with relaxed motions.
■ About the Bracelet
Due to many years of use, there is slight distortion in the link adjacent to the end link on the 6 o'clock side. This does not currently affect usability, but to avoid undue stress, we recommend wearing it with a not-too-tight fit, allowing about a finger's width of space around your wrist.
■ About Water Resistance, Magnetism, and Impact
As this is an old watch, it is not water-resistant. Please refrain from using it in environments with high moisture (e.g., on rainy days, when washing your face, or on hot, sweaty days). Also, as it is a precision instrument, please take great care to avoid strong impacts such as dropping it, and magnetic fields (e.g., smartphones, PCs, speakers, magnets in bags).
Operating Instructions
Manual Winding: Turn the crown upwards in its normal position.
Time Setting: Pull out the crown and turn downwards.
Date Quick Set: Pull out the crown and move the hands back and forth between '8:15 PM and 12 AM' during time setting.
1) Move the hands until 12 AM (midnight).
If the date changes, it is 12 AM. If it does not change, it is 12 PM.
2) Once you confirm the date has changed, turn the hands back to 8:15 PM.
This prepares the calendar to display the next day.
3) Advance the hands to 12 AM.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
Repeat steps 1) to 3) to advance the date one day at a time.
Operate slowly to reduce strain on the movement.
Day Setting: There is no quick-set. Advance by rotating the hands 24 hours during time setting.
