商品説明
This is a high-grade Omega model, the "Constellation C-Line."
The C-Line refers to the case design by watch design master Gerald Genta. It is famous as one of his greatest masterpieces.
Characterized by a beautiful, flowing design where the case and lugs are integrated, it maintains a modern impression even after nearly half a century.
The case back is a screw-back type, featuring the observatory emblem, the symbol of the Constellation. The surface of the crown bears the "Ω" mark, and the center of the crystal features the original "Ω" watermark, proof of its rarity as an authentic vintage piece.
It is powered by the "Caliber 561" movement.
As a chronometer-certified caliber, it was reserved exclusively for high-end models in the lineup at the time. While many of this Ref. 168.017 model were later equipped with the Cal. 564 (with date quick-set), this is a rare piece equipped with the Cal. 561 found only in early production models. Its simple structure, which intentionally lacks a date quick-change mechanism, reduces wear on parts and boasts high stability over the long term. This is a rare specification for the connoisseur, allowing one to purely enjoy the design philosophy of Omega's golden era.
The movement is engraved with "ADJUSTED FIVE (5) POSITIONS AND TEMPERATURE."
The entire movement is finished in red gold plating, exuding the dignity befitting a high-end timepiece.
The dial shows soft discoloration (patina) due to aging, creating a wonderful atmosphere unique to vintage watches. It features a sunburst finish that radiates depth depending on the angle of the light.
The 12 o'clock side of the dial bears the "CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" inscription, proof of its certification by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (C.O.S.C.).
At the 6 o'clock position, the Constellation symbol, the ☆ star mark, is applied, serving as an accent to the dial design. The slender indices and hands typical of this generation further accentuate the intellectual impression of the C-Line.
Highly recommended for those looking for an elegant vintage Omega.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and the exterior finished.
There is a slight crack at the 28-minute position of the bezel due to aging.
However, the edges of the case remain sharp, and above all, it is a highly original piece equipped with the genuine crystal featuring the Ω mark and the rare genuine SS bracelet (Ref. 1040 / FF518) that highlights the linear aesthetic beauty characteristic of Genta's work.
It comes with the genuine bracelet and can accommodate a wrist size of up to 187mm.
As this is an older timepiece, it is not waterproof. Do not use it in environments with high moisture (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or on hot days when you may sweat).
As this is a precision instrument, please be careful of drops and strong impacts. Also, please keep it away from objects that emit strong magnetic fields, such as smartphones, PCs, or magnetic bag clasps.
Operating Instructions
Winding: Rotate clockwise in the crown's normal position.
Time Adjustment: Pull the crown out one click and rotate counter-clockwise.
Date Quick-Set: The date can be quick-changed by moving the hands back and forth between "9 PM and 12 AM."
1) Advance the hands until midnight (12:00 AM) to confirm the date change.
2) Once the date changes, turn the hands back to 9:00 PM.
This prepares the watch to display the next day's date.
3) Advance the hands to midnight again.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
Repeat steps 1) through 3) to advance the date one day at a time.
Please operate slowly to reduce the burden on the movement.
