商品説明
This is a 1968 manual-wind "19 Seiko" pocket watch.
The "19 Seiko" is a pocket watch equipped with a 19-ligne (approx. 42.8mm diameter) movement.
Its production began around 1929 (Showa 4) when it was manufactured for the then Ministry of Railways as a replacement for Waltham railway watches.
It was a long-selling model, with production continuing until November 1971 (Showa 46), while undergoing mechanical changes.
1959 (Showa 34): Changed "SEIKOSHA" on the dial to "SEIKO"
1960 (Showa 35): Released post-war 19-ligne 15-jewel movement
1963 (Showa 38): Changed bow shape from "oval" to "round"
1971 (Showa 46): Discontinued 19-ligne movement production
This particular model, manufactured in 1968, features a round bow and black hands.
The case back is engraved with "昭44 436 門鉄" (issued in 1969 by the Moji Railway Bureau).
It was given the model number "91-0020" and has "JAPAN 9119-0020T" printed on the dial at the 6 o'clock position.
The hands were changed from blued steel to black-painted, marking this as a product from the period when the design shifted to a more modern style.
The movement features a simple linear finish.
It has a small seconds display and a "second setting mechanism".
Above the small seconds, it reads "SECOND SETTING DIAFLEX".
The second setting function allows the second hand to stop at the 60-second mark when the crown is pulled.
The dial is white with large Arabic numerals, boasting excellent legibility characteristic of railway watches.
The crown is a comfortable size for operation.
Winding the watch feels slightly heavier than winding a wristwatch.
Please grip the crown firmly when winding.
