商品説明
This is a 1963 Seiko Crown Special.
The Crown Special was a high-end model developed based on the Grand Seiko First model.
At the time, the Grand Seiko First cost 25,000 yen, and the Crown Special (gold-plated, with stainless steel case back) cost 8,900 yen.
It can be said to be a semi-high-end model of its time, combining practicality and cost performance while inheriting the design philosophy of GS.
The dial features a finely radial finish, radiating a clear brilliance depending on the angle of the light.
The indices are finished with hard gold plating that is resistant to discoloration, known as an "AD dial" specification.
The hands are powerful, faceted dauphine hands, ensuring high visibility.
The case is 14K gold-plated, and the case back is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
This combination of materials emphasizes practicality, even among the lineup of that time.
The movement equipped is the Cal.341.
This movement was the base for the Cal.3180 used in the Grand Seiko First, and it is equipped with a hacking (second hand stop) function.

Recommended for those looking for a vintage watch in good condition.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and its exterior polished.
The dial has overall transparency and is in good condition, but fine film lift (clear layer lift) due to age can be seen along the edge near 4 to 5 o'clock. While not very noticeable to the naked eye, please understand this as part of its vintage character. Additionally, there are a few pinpoint stains.
The crystal is scratch-free, ensuring clear visibility.
While minor scratches remain on the case, the edges of the lugs are sharp, and the original shape has not been compromised. A slight dent is visible on the surface of the upper right lug, but it does not detract from the overall appearance.
The engraving on the case back also remains clear.
The strap has been replaced with a new Seiko cowhide leather strap.
The crown features the rare "S mark" and shows almost no wear, with the engraving remaining clear. Winding the mainspring and setting the time operate smoothly.
As a vintage watch that has passed many years since its manufacture, it is not waterproof. Strict avoidance of use in humid environments (rainy days, washing face, wearing on hot days when sweating, etc.) is essential.
As a precision instrument, please be careful of drops, strong impacts, and magnetism (smartphones, PCs, speakers, etc.).
Operation Instructions
Manual Winding: With the crown in its normal position, rotate upwards.
When winding the mainspring, please turn the crown gently and carefully upwards.
Forcibly winding once it has reached the end can cause the mainspring to break. Please be careful.
Time Setting: Pull and turn the crown (the second hand will stop).
When the crown is pulled, the hacking function activates and the second hand stops.
Over-pulling the crown or operating it forcefully can cause damage, so please remove the watch from your wrist and operate it gently.
