商品説明
The Technos Sky Ace, estimated to have been manufactured in the 1960s, is a vintage model from the golden era when the long-established Swiss company Technos produced high-quality mechanical watches in-house.
A unique feature of this model is its design, characterized by the three-dimensional, colored "Sky Ace emblem" placed at the 6 o'clock position and the beautiful crest clearly engraved on the case back. The elaborate construction, typical of the dress lines of that era, allows one to enjoy special design details on both the dial and the case back, which is truly eye-catching.
The design of the case back, in particular, is reminiscent of the medallions (emblems) that symbolized the golden age of Swiss dress watches in the 1960s, carrying that luxurious atmosphere unique to the time. Within a small circle, an array of details—the intricate leaf (laurel) motif, the central crest, the T-logo, the model name, and the "SWISS" engraving—are beautifully condensed into a highly impressive finish.
The dial features a beautiful sunburst finish, accented by three-dimensional bar indices and a calendar with "red text." Due to aging, it has shifted to an exquisite champagne-gold hue, exuding the profound, mellow atmosphere unique to a vintage piece. Furthermore, details such as the domed acrylic crystal that retains the soft aesthetic of the period and the stylish, elongated lugs (with a vertical case length including lugs of 45mm) provide a presence that was notable for its time, with every detail crafted to tickle the hearts of watch enthusiasts.
The movement is powered by the renowned "ETA Cal. 2472," a caliber adopted by numerous Swiss watches and highly regarded for its durability and ease of maintenance. It features an "instant date change" function that snaps the calendar over around midnight, allowing you to enjoy the meticulous practical engineering of the time.
The crown also features the brand's symbol (T-mark) clearly imprinted.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and the exterior has been refinished (polished).
【Dial and Hands】
While there is vintage-specific aging (discoloration, stains, spots, and dirt) across the dial, it does not detract from its character but has instead developed into a very tasteful vintage aesthetic. The legibility of the hands and indices remains good.
【Crystal】
Although there are light scratches that could not be removed by polishing, there are no deep scratches that impede visibility, and it remains clear.
【Case and Exterior】
The exterior is in excellent condition overall due to the refinishing process. To avoid excessive polishing, the edges of the stylish, long lugs—a major feature of this model—and the original form have been well preserved.
The crown is a genuine Technos part (with T-mark). The crest engraving on the case back remains sharp and undistorted. It is fitted with a brand-new Italian calfskin leather strap from the long-established brand Morellato, so it can be worn immediately upon purchase.
As this is a vintage watch from an older era, it is non-waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy days, during the rainy season, or in the summer. Also, please be careful of impacts and magnetism (smartphones, PCs, magnetic closures on bags, etc.).
Operation
Manual Winding: With the crown in the normal position (pushed all the way in), rotate it upwards (12 o'clock direction).
Pulling the Crown: Gently insert your fingernail between the case and the crown to pull it out one click.
*Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come out entirely. Please pull it out gently.
*To prevent bending or damaging the winding stem, please be sure to remove the watch from your wrist before operation. Operating it gently reduces the burden on the movement.
Setting the Time: With the crown pulled out, rotate it downwards (6 o'clock direction).
*There is no second-hand stop (hacking) function.
Quick Date Change (Calendar Advancement): With the crown pulled out, move the time back and forth between "8:20 PM and 12:00 AM" to advance the calendar.
1) Advance the hands forward to pass midnight (12:00 AM) and confirm that the date changes.
(The time when the date changes is 12:00 AM. If it does not change, it is 12:00 PM; please advance the hands by another 12 hours.)
2) After confirming the date has changed past 12:00 AM, turn the hands backwards to return to around 8:20 PM.
3) From there, advance the hands forward again to pass 12:00 AM. Confirm that the date has advanced by one more day.
By repeating this "advance to 12:00 AM -> return to 8:20 PM -> advance to 12:00 AM" cycle, you can quick-set the date day by day.
*Please perform this operation slowly and carefully to reduce the burden on the movement.
