商品説明
This is a 1971 "61 Grand Seiko Special."
The 61 Grand Seiko, introduced in 1967, was the first domestically produced 10-beat automatic wristwatch in Japan.
It is equipped with a next-generation automatic winding mechanism that successfully adapted Seiko's proprietary ratchet-style "Magic Lever" to a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour.
With features including a hacking function (second-hand stop), a quick-set date function, and manual winding, it is a highly practical model.
The rotor surface features a "rippled" finish, and other components have been meticulously polished, reflecting the superb craftsmanship characteristic of Grand Seiko from that era.
The ratchet-style "Magic Lever" is a mechanism that winds the mainspring through the lateral movement of a lever (pawl) driven by the rotation of the rotor.
Compared to gear-driven winding mechanisms, it is characterized by higher winding efficiency.
Because it has fewer parts, it is also highly durable, making it an excellent mechanism that many manufacturers have begun to adopt in recent years.
This particular piece is the "61GS SPECIAL," a superior model adjusted to even stricter high-precision standards than the regular 61GS. The dial features "SPECIAL HI-BEAT" lettering at the 6 o'clock position.
The automatic rotor is engraved with "SEIKO."
The gold medallion on the case back features the "GS" and "Suwa" marks.
In addition to the hacking function (second-hand stop) and manual winding, it is also equipped with a quick-set date function.
While some 61GS models include both a date and day display, the 6155-8000 displays only the date, allowing for simple operation.
Condition
This watch has undergone an overhaul and exterior polishing.
The crown operation is smooth, and the automatic rotor functions normally.
You can enjoy the unique winding feel and rotor sound of the 61GS as a mechanical delight specific to the high-beat and Magic Lever system.
It has been fitted with a new genuine bezel and genuine crystal, and the case area is in excellent condition.
The strap has been replaced with a brand-new one (by Seiko).
The crown is an original, valuable piece featuring the GS mark.
The dial shows small, dot-like stains, faint linear scratches, and some discoloration near the index at the 2 o'clock position.
The GS medallion on the case back shows partial fading (peeling).
As this is a vintage watch, it is not waterproof. Usage in environments with high moisture (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or on hot, sweaty days) is strictly prohibited.
As it is a precision instrument, please be careful to avoid drops or strong impacts.
Also, please be careful not to bring it near items that emit strong magnetic fields, such as smartphones, PCs, or magnets found on bag clasps.
Operating Instructions
Manual Winding: Rotate clockwise while the crown is in the normal position.
How to pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown out by inserting a fingernail between the case and the crown.
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come out. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown stem from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Handling it gently will reduce strain on the crown.
Setting the time: Pull the crown out to the second click and rotate counter-clockwise.
The second hand stops when the crown is pulled to the second click.
Quick-set date: Pull the crown out to the first click and rotate clockwise.
Performing the quick-set operation while the watch indicates a time between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM may cause damage.
We recommend setting the time to around 6:00 before performing the quick-set operation.
