[Rare] Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8000 Low-Beat Full Arabic Numerals Cal.5740A 23 Jewels Hand-Winding Overhauled, Made in 1966

This is a 1966 Lord Marvel (low-beat / with hacking seconds) model with a stainless steel case.
 

The Lord Marvel was a hand-wound luxury watch manufactured for approximately 20 years from the late 1950s.
It was positioned between the 'Grand Seiko' and 'Crown Special'.

This particular piece was produced during a short period of transition when the Lord Marvel was changing from a low-beat movement (Cal.5740A, 5740B) to a high-beat movement (Cal.5740C).

It is equipped with the 'Caliber 5740A' movement, which has a hacking seconds function.
The movement is engraved with a serial number.
 

The case is made of stainless steel, and the case back is a screw-back type.
The case back is engraved with WATER PROOF and a seahorse, a design that highlighted improved water resistance at the time of its release.

Although the '5740-8000' case was later used for high-beat models, the seahorse logo on the case back was replaced with the "SEIKO" engraving.
 

The silver dial features a radial finish that creates shadows depending on the angle of the light.
It has a simple and elegant design, with an applied SEIKO logo, a handwritten Load Marvel logo, and Arabic indices.
