【Rare】Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8000 Low Beat All Numerals Cal.5740B 23 Jewels Hand-wound Overhauled Manufactured in 1966

This is a 1966 Load Marvel (low-beat/with hacking seconds) model with a stainless steel case.
 

The Load Marvel was a manual-winding luxury wristwatch manufactured for approximately 20 years from the late 1950s.
It was positioned between the 'Grand Seiko' and 'Crown Special' lines.

This particular piece was produced during the short period of transition from Load Marvel's low-beat movements (Cal. 5740A, 5740B) to the high-beat movement (Cal. 5740C).

The movement installed is the 'Caliber 5740B' and it features a hacking seconds mechanism.
A serial number is engraved on the movement.
 

The case is made of stainless steel, and the case back is a screw-back type.
The case back features "WATER PROOF" and a seahorse engraving, a design that highlighted the improved water resistance at the time of its release.

The '5740-8000' case was later used for high-beat models, but the seahorse logo on the case back was replaced with a "SEIKO" engraving.
 

The silver dial has a radial finish, creating shades depending on the angle of light.
It features an applied SEIKO logo, a scripted Load Marvel logo, and Arabic indices, resulting in a simple yet elegant design.

There is a slight overall discoloration on the dial, and some dirt on the edge at the 2 o'clock position.
