This is the Rado flagship model, the Diastar.
The "Diastar" series is still available in their current product lineup and gained popularity around 1960 for adopting "Hardmetal," which boasts high durability.
The faceted crystal has 9 facets, emitting a unique brilliance.
The dial is indigo (dark blue), consistent with the case color.
It features silver indexes and decorative frames that shine when light hits them.
At the 12 o'clock position, there's Rado's brand symbol, the "anchor mark" (which moves).
A date display is at the 3 o'clock position.
The case back is screw-down type, with a mark of three seahorses.
The crown also features an anchor mark.
The bracelet is genuine RADO and can accommodate a wrist size up to 184mm.
The movement is an automatic movement based on A. Schild's AS1858.
How to Operate Caliber AS1858
Manual Winding: Turn the crown upwards in its normal position
*Due to the crown's design, which is embedded in the case, manual winding can be difficult.
Time Setting: Pull the crown out and turn upwards (the second hand will not stop).
Quick Date Set: Pull the crown out and move the hands back and forth between '8:15 PM and 12 AM' during time setting.
1) Move the hands until 12 AM (24:00).
If the date changes, it is 12 AM. If it does not change, it is 12 PM.
2) Once you confirm the date has changed, move the hands back to 8:15 PM.
This prepares the calendar to display the next day.
3) Advance the hands to 12 AM.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
By repeating steps 1) to 3), you can quick-set the date one day at a time.
Please operate slowly to reduce the burden on the movement.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled by our store and is ready for immediate use.
The crystal is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches.
It is rare to find a piece with a faceted crystal in such good condition.
Although the material is scratch-resistant, it is not strong against impact.
Please handle with care.
Due to its age, it is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
