商品説明
This is a stainless steel case model of the Lord Marvel (low-beat/with hacking seconds feature) manufactured in 1967.
The Lord Marvel was a high-end hand-wound wristwatch produced for approximately 20 years starting in the late 1950s.
It was positioned between the "Grand Seiko" and the "Crown Special."
This particular piece is a rare model produced during the short transitional period between the Lord Marvel's low-beat movements (Cal. 5740A, 5740B) and its high-beat movement (Cal. 5740C).
It is powered by the Caliber 5740B, which features a hacking seconds function.
The serial number is engraved on the movement.
The case is made of stainless steel with a screw-back case design.
The case back features the "WATER PROOF" text and a seahorse engraving, a design used at the time to highlight improved water resistance capabilities. (Please note that it is currently not waterproof.)
While the "5740-8000" case was later used for high-beat models, the seahorse logo on the case back was replaced with a "SEIKO" engraving.
The dial features a radial sunburst finish, which creates shadows depending on the angle of the light.
It boasts a simple and elegant design, featuring an applied SEIKO logo, a cursive Load Marvel logo, and Arabic numerals.
This is recommended for those looking for a rare timepiece or an antique watch with a dressy design.
How to operate the Caliber 5740B
Hand-winding: Rotate the crown upwards in the normal position.
To wind the mainspring, please turn the crown upwards slowly and carefully.
It will feel light when you begin winding, but will become heavier as the spring reaches its full capacity.
Please be aware that forcing the crown once it reaches the end of its tension can break the mainspring.
Pulling the crown: Gently pull it out by inserting your fingernail between the case and the crown.
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come out completely; please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Handling it gently will reduce stress on the crown.
Setting the time: Pull out the crown and rotate downwards.
The second hand will stop (Caliber 5740B).
