[Rare] King Seiko Chronometer 4420-9990 Late Model, Lion Medallion, Manual Wind, Overhauled, Manufactured in 1966 (Showa 41), Seiko

This is a second-generation King Seiko model, featuring the rare chronometer specification.

Production of the second-generation King Seiko began in 1964.
Among them, the chronometer specification is a rare model, as it was produced for a short period of only about two years.
The second-generation model introduced a hacking feature (stop-second function), which was absent in the first-generation model.
The case back was changed from a press-fit snap-back to a screw-back, improving practicality.
Additionally, the case lugs were designed to be thicker, enhancing durability.

The word "Chronometer" is printed in block letters at the 12 o'clock position on the dial.
The hour and minute hands, as well as the indices, are mirror-finished with multi-faceted cuts, giving off an elegant shine and a distinct presence.
The entire dial has aged slightly, offering an appealing vintage patina.

The case back features a gold "Lion Medallion," which adds a sense of exclusivity.
Unlike other King Seiko models, the tip of the second hand has a unique bulbous design.

The original crown bears the W SEIKO logo.
With a diameter of 5.5mm, it is easy to grip and operate.

How to operate the Cal.4422A

Manual winding: Rotate upwards in the normal crown position.
 

How to pull out the crown: Insert a fingernail between the case and the crown and use it like a lever.

Please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
Operating it gently will reduce the strain on the crown.

Time setting: Pull out the crown and rotate downwards.

The second hand will stop.

Condition

This watch has been overhauled and the exterior has been refinished by our shop.
 

The leather strap has been replaced with a brand new genuine one, so you can wear it with comfort.

Similar to the early 44KS movement, it is equipped with a "sickle-shaped" second-hand regulation lever, and the hacking function operates correctly.

The crown is the original piece with the "W SEIKO" engraving.
There is no wear on the edges of the crown, and it functions well.

The medallion on the case back is in beautiful condition with no significant deterioration.

Due to its age, this watch is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy days or during hot weather.
Please also be mindful of shocks and magnetism.
