The 45-jewel model was released as the highest-grade version of the "Dynamic Auto 33 Jewels," the first 33-jewel wristwatch to be sold in Japan.
The Dynamic Auto 33 Jewels was priced at 9,500 yen at a time when the starting salary for university graduates was 15,700 yen. (33 jewels, gold-plated case)
It is considered a masterpiece in the history of Japanese-made watches, as it set a trend for various manufacturers to successively develop multi-jewel models.
The 45-jewel model has the highest number of jewels in Ricoh's watch lineup.
The dial is silver with a sunray finish.
The indexes have gold ring-shaped decorations.
The indexes are three-dimensional and have a mirror finish.
Wide indexes are placed at 12, 6, and 9 o'clock, giving it a powerful presence.
The hands are gold with a sharp design.
The case is gold-plated.
The case back is made of stainless steel with a screw-back design.
Operating Instructions
Manual winding: With the crown in the normal position, rotate upwards
Pulling the crown: Insert a fingernail between the case and the crown and gently pull it out
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to detach. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist when operating it.
Gentle operation reduces stress on the crown.
Time setting: Pull the crown and rotate downwards
The second hand does not stop
Date quick-set: Pull the crown and move the time back and forth between "9 PM and 12 AM" during time setting
1) Move the hands to 12 AM (24:00).
If the date changes, it's 12 AM. If it doesn't change, it's 12 PM.
2) When you move the hands to 24:00, the next date will be displayed. Then, move the hands back to 21:00.
3) Advance the hands to 24:00. (Until the date fully changes)
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
By repeating this, you can quick-set the date one day at a time.
Please operate slowly to reduce stress on the movement.
Condition
This item has been overhauled by our store.
The crystal has minor scratches that could not be removed by polishing, but the dial visibility is good.
The crown is an aftermarket part but is genuine Ricoh and features the R logo.
There is a gap between the case and the crown, but it does not affect operation.
Due to its age, it is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy days, during the rainy season, or in summer.
Also, be careful of impacts and magnetic fields.
