This is an Eterna KonTiki Eterna-Matic.
The KonTiki model was created to honor the achievement of adventurer Thor Heyerdahl, who crossed the Pacific Ocean on the raft "KonTiki" in 1947, wearing an Eterna watch.
The case back features an engraving of the KonTiki raft.
Eterna was the first manufacturer in the world to use ball bearings for the rotor axis.
The brand mark, inspired by ball bearings, is placed at the 12 o'clock position on the dial and on the crown.
The case is made of stainless steel with a screw-back.
The crown is screw-down.
The dial color is a vibrant yellow, with "KONTIKI" printed in red and the tip of the second hand also red, giving it a playful impression.
The crystal is sapphire, offering the advantage of scratch resistance.
The movement is automatic.
It features manual winding, quick date setting, and a hack function (stop-seconds), making it highly practical.
How to Operate
Unscrewing the crown: Rotate downwards from the normal position of the crown.
The crown screws in well.
When screwing in the crown, to avoid damaging the threads,
we recommend carefully finding the correct position and screwing it in slowly.
On this model, pressing the crown firmly against the case and turning it will allow it to screw in smoothly.
Manual winding: Unscrew the crown and rotate upwards.
Time setting: Pull the crown out two clicks and rotate downwards.
The second hand stops when the crown is pulled out two clicks.
Quick date setting: Pull the crown out one click and rotate upwards.
Operating the quick date setting when the watch indicates between "9 PM and 2 AM" will cause damage.
It is recommended to set the time to around 6 o'clock before performing the quick date setting.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and its exterior polished by our store.
The bracelet is original and of sufficient length, fitting wrists up to 200mm.
The crown screws in well.
There is no noticeable deterioration on the original crown.
Please handle it carefully to avoid damaging the threads.
As this is a USED item, we cannot guarantee its water resistance.
Please also be careful of impacts and magnetism.
