[Rare] Grand Seiko V.F.A. 6185-8020 Cal.6185B Automatic, Overhauled, Manufactured in 1970 (Showa 45) GrandSeiko

This is a Grand Seiko V.F.A. Ref. 6185-8020 manufactured in October 1970.

"V.F.A." stands for "Very Fine Adjusted," denoting a specially adjusted timepiece boasting exceptionally high accuracy.
It was a groundbreaking product, becoming the first mechanical watch to feature a "monthly rate" specification, with a daily variance of ±2 seconds and a monthly variance of ±60 seconds. (Performance figures at the time of release.)

Based on extremely stringent accuracy standards and quality control, these watches were carefully assembled and adjusted by specially selected expert technicians using highly advanced techniques.
The movement features a 10-beat frequency and is finished in a beautiful red-gold plating.
It is truly the culmination of Japanese mechanical watchmaking technology and stands as the pinnacle of Grand Seiko models.

The dial features a radial finish that creates beautiful shadows depending on the angle of light.
The indices are tall, applied bar markers that provide a sense of depth.

This is a special timepiece that combines both rarity and technical value.

Operating Instructions

Manual Winding: Rotate clockwise with the crown in the normal position.

Time Setting: Pull the crown out to the second click and rotate counter-clockwise.

The second hand will stop when the crown is in the second click position.

Date Quick-set: Pull the crown out to the first click and rotate clockwise.

Do not use the quick-set function while the watch hands are between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this may cause damage.
We recommend moving the hands to around the 6:00 position before performing the quick-set operation.

Condition

This watch has been overhauled by our shop.
 

The strap has been replaced with a brand new genuine crocodile leather strap so you can wear it with comfort.
Includes a 15mm SEIKO buckle.
 

The crown is genuine and features the GS logo.
Crown operation is smooth.

There is some deterioration and discoloration on the edge of the dial near the 3 o'clock position, but it is not very noticeable, and the watch is in very clean condition considering its age.

Due to its age, this watch is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Also, please be careful of shocks and magnetism.
