This is the Universal Genève White Shadow, which gained popularity for its "ultra-thin automatic movement."
The White Shadow is a masterpiece from Universal Genève, standing alongside their hand-wound chronographs.
It is powered by the ultra-thin Cal. 2-66 movement, measuring just 2.5mm in thickness.
This is a high-grade movement adjusted to two positions, featuring 25 ruby jewels.
Automatic watches from other manufacturers were significantly thicker, as they were constructed by mounting an automatic winding mechanism onto a hand-wound movement and covering it with a rotor.
Universal Genève succeeded in achieving phenomenal thinness by redesigning the layout of the hand-wound movement's parts and integrating the automatic components and a small "micro-rotor" into the newly created space.
The dial is white, featuring a classic design with Roman numeral indices and two hands.
The crown is original and bears the "U" engraving.
Although the crown is small with a diameter of 3.6mm, the back of the case is curved to make manual winding easier.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and professionally polished by our shop.
It comes with an original mesh bracelet.
It can fit a wrist circumference of up to 203mm.
As this is a vintage watch, it is not water-resistant.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Please also handle with care to avoid impacts and magnetic fields.
