This is the "Yacht Club," a luxury sports model equipped with shock resistance and water resistance (for its time).
The Yacht Club adopted a revolutionary structure to improve the movement's shock resistance: the "inner case" housing the movement is suspended inside the main case using five rubber buffers.
This particular piece is an "early model," characterized by an inner case large enough to cover the rotor.
The crown features the "fish mark," a hallmark of authenticity.
The case back is a screw-back design.
The dial features a sunray finish, with fine radial lines spreading outward.
The construction creates beautiful shadows from the center to the outer edge, giving it a high-class feel.
The entire dial has aged evenly, resulting in a champagne gold hue.
At the 12 o'clock position, the cursive "International Watch Co." signature and the IWC applied logo are present, evoking a vintage atmosphere.
It is powered by the Pellaton automatic caliber "Cal. 8541."
Compared to the previous Cal. 8531, it is thinner and highly practical with a date quick-set function and manual winding.
The early Yacht Club model does not have a hacking seconds function.
Operating the Caliber 8541
Manual winding: Rotate clockwise in the neutral crown position.
Time setting: Pull the crown out and rotate clockwise.
Date quick-set: Pull the crown out and move the hands back and forth between "11:45 PM and 12:00 AM."
1) Advance the hands until midnight (12:00 AM).
If the date changes, it is midnight. If it does not, it is noon.
2) Once you have confirmed the date has changed, move the hands back to 11:45 PM.
This prepares the watch to display the next day's date.
3) Advance the hands to 12:00 AM.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
Repeat steps 1) through 3) to advance the date one day at a time.
Please operate slowly to reduce the burden on the movement.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and the exterior finished by our store.
The strap is brand new (made by Di-Modell), ensuring it is pleasant to wear.
The dial shows even aging across the entire surface, allowing you to enjoy the champagne gold hue.
The crown has been replaced with a new, genuine stock part.
Crown operation is smooth.
The case and case back show light scuffs and scratches, and there are small dings on the lugs and sides.
Due to its age, this watch is not water-resistant.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Please handle with care against impacts.
