商品説明
This is the 62GS / 6245-9000, an automatic model from Grand Seiko, the pinnacle of domestic watchmaking.
The 62GS was Grand Seiko's first automatic model, with production beginning in 1966.
It is a rare model that ceased production after only about one year before the successor 61GS was released.
The 62GS features a crown positioned at 4 o'clock, concealing it to create a sleek, flowing case design.
This is an early version of the 62GS, featuring a lion medallion on the case back.
The dial features a sunray finish.
The sunray finish on the 62GS is particularly beautiful, with deep, rich color gradients.
The hands and indices are multi-faceted and mirror-finished, providing an elegant brilliance.
It is equipped with the 35-jewel "Cal.6245A" movement.
It features a hacking function (second-hand stop), date display, and date quick-set function, making it highly practical.
Finding an individual piece where the case, crown, dial, hands, crystal, and medallion are all in satisfactory condition is becoming increasingly difficult year by year.
While this piece has some scratches on the case that could not be removed by polishing, it maintains a beautiful appearance considering its age.
Operating Instructions
How to pull the crown: Gently pull it out by inserting a fingernail between the case and the crown from the back of the case.
Pulling the crown too hard may cause it to come out; please pull it gently.
To prevent the crown from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
Operating gently will reduce strain on the crown.
Time setting: Pull the crown out two clicks and rotate downwards.
The second hand stops when the crown is pulled out to the second position.
Date quick-set: Pull the crown out one click and rotate downwards.
Performing a quick-set operation while the watch hands are between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM will cause a malfunction.
We recommend setting the time to around 6:00 before performing a quick-set.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and the exterior finished by our shop.
The leather strap has been replaced with a new genuine item, so you can wear it with comfort.
The crystal has some light scuffs, but visibility of the dial is excellent.
The gold medallion shows no significant deterioration and is in beautiful condition given its manufacturing date.
Due to its age, this watch is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Please also be mindful of shocks and magnetism.
