This is a 1969 Longines "Ultra-Chron."
The Ultra-Chron is a model equipped with the 10-beat "Caliber 431", which was introduced in 1968.
The dial features a sunburst finish.
The Longines "winged hourglass" brand logo is positioned at the 12 o'clock position, and the three-dimensional "Ultra-Chron" logo is at the 6 o'clock position, both of which catch the light and shine.
The case is round, with slender lugs that give it a stylish impression.
The case back is a screw-back type, featuring the Ultra-Chron logo.
The crown features the "LONGINES" and "winged hourglass" logos.
This piece is also notably equipped with its original LONGINES bracelet.
How to operate the Caliber 431
There is no original hacking (second hand stop) function.
Manual winding: Rotate upwards in the normal crown position
Time setting: Pull the crown out and rotate downwards
Date quick-set: Pull the crown out and cycle back and forth between "10 PM and 12 AM" during time setting
1) Move the hands until 12:00 midnight (24:00).
If the date changes, it is 12:00 midnight. If it does not, it is 12:00 noon.
2) Once you have confirmed that the date has changed, turn the hands back to 10:00 PM (22:00).
This prepares the movement to advance to the next day's date.
3) Advance the hands to 12:00 midnight (24:00).
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
By repeating steps 1) through 3), you can advance the date one day at a time.
Please operate slowly to reduce the burden on the movement.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and externally polished.
The bracelet is original to Longines and fits a maximum wrist size of 189mm (including the extension plate).
Due to its age, this watch is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Also, please be careful of shocks and magnetism.
