This is an automatic wristwatch from Ulysse Nardin, dating back to the 1960s.

Ulysse Nardin is a venerable watchmaker founded in Le Locle, Switzerland, in 1846.
The company achieved such success in the field of marine chronometers that it held a near-monopoly, and is a prestigious brand with a history of supplying the navies of 50 countries.

The dial features a radial finish.
It has aged slightly overall, giving it a distinct vintage appeal.
The brand's iconic anchor logo is featured at the 12 o'clock position on the dial.
With its applied bullet-shaped indices and dauphine hands, it boasts an elegant and sophisticated design.

It is highly legible thanks to the date display at the 3 o'clock position and the magnifying lens for the date on the crystal.
Because the magnifying lens is on the inside, the exterior of the crystal maintains a clean, sleek design.

The case is CAP GOLD.
Cap Gold involves a very thick layer of gold being applied over a stainless steel case.
It is characterized by a gold layer thicker than that of gold plating or gold-filled pieces, a specification seen in luxury items from the 1960s.
The case features long lugs, creating a design that makes the vertical lines appear sleek.

The case back is a screw-down type, and its flat construction makes it comfortable to wear.
The crown is an original part engraved with the anchor logo.

The movement equipped is the Cal. N74.

How to operate the Caliber N74

How to pull out the crown: Insert your fingernail between the case and the crown, and gently pull it out.

Pulling the crown with excessive force may cause it to come off. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent bending the crown, please remove the watch from your wrist before operation.
Operating it gently will reduce the strain on the crown.

Manual winding: With the crown in the normal position, rotate it upwards.

Time setting: Pull out the crown and rotate it downwards.

The second hand does not stop.

Date quick-setting: With the crown pulled out, oscillate the hands between 8:00 PM and 12:05 AM to set the time.

1) Advance the hands until 12:05 AM (24:05).
　 If the date changes, it is midnight. If it does not, it is noon.

2) Once you have confirmed the date has changed, turn the hands back to 8:00 PM.
　 This prepares the watch to display the next day's date.

3) Advance the hands to 12:05 AM.
　 Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.

By repeating steps 1) through 3), you can quick-set the date one day at a time.
To reduce the burden on the movement, please operate it slowly.

Condition

This watch has been overhauled and the exterior has been refurbished.

The leather strap has been replaced with a brand new one (made by Morellato), so you can wear it with comfort.

The case has minor scratches and signs of corrosion on the stainless steel side, but it is in beautiful condition considering its age.

Due to its age, this watch is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot, humid days.
Please also handle it with care regarding magnetism and shocks.
