This is a manual-wind IWC model from 1973.
The dial features a radial finish, with delicate lines that emerge to give it a luxurious feel.
At the 12 o'clock position on the dial is the applied "IWC" logo along with the script "International Watch Co." lettering, evoking a classic vintage atmosphere.
It is powered by the manual-wind "Cal. 403" movement.
The Cal. 403 movement was thinned to approximately 3.15mm compared to previous movements, and features a distinctive IWC bridge design with large, segmented sections.
The crown has a diameter of 4.6mm, making it easy to grip and highly operable.
It remains in beautiful condition, without the edge wear often seen on the crowns of manual-wind models.
Ref. 2407 features an integrated mesh bracelet and was priced 20% higher than the leather strap Ref. 2403 (1419) model.
With very few well-preserved examples remaining, this is an exceptionally rare piece.
While thin antique watches lack water resistance, they have the advantage of not catching on shirt cuffs when worn.
Highly recommended for those looking for an antique dress watch.
Operating Instructions
Winding: Rotate clockwise while the crown is in its normal position.
How to pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown out by inserting a fingernail between the case and the crown.
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come out entirely; please pull it out gently.
To prevent bending the crown, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Operating it gently will reduce the strain on the crown.
Setting the time: Pull out the crown and rotate it clockwise.
Condition
This watch was overhauled in 2023.
The crystal has some minor scratches and linear marks that could not be removed by polishing, but the dial remains clearly visible.
The genuine mesh bracelet features a free-adjust mechanism.
There is some distortion from previous wear.
To lock it, insert the 6 o'clock side of the bracelet into the buckle and then close the buckle.
Until you are accustomed to wearing it, please practice over a desk to avoid dropping the watch.
Because it is delicate, we recommend wearing it with a bit of slack around your wrist.
Due to its age, this watch is not water-resistant.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Please also be careful to avoid shocks and magnetic fields.
