Seiko Crown Special 15021 SD Dial, Cal. 341, 23 Jewels, Manual Wind, Overhauled, Manufactured in 1962 (Showa 37)

This is a Seiko Crown Special stainless steel model from 1962.

The Crown Special is a high-grade model released as a minor update to the first Grand Seiko model.
At the time, the Grand Seiko First was priced at 25,000 yen, while the Crown Special gold-filled model (with stainless steel case back) was 8,900 yen, and the all-stainless steel model was 7,000 yen.
Although there are differences in design and movement specifications, it can be considered a model with an excellent balance between product grade and retail price.

The dial features a sunburst finish, which creates beautiful shadows depending on the angle of light.
It is a high-grade "SD dial" specification, where the indices are made of solid 18K or 14K gold.
The sun-like mark at the 6 o'clock position indicates the SD dial, and its elegant luster remains intact to this day.
The watch features bold dauphine hands that give it a strong presence.

The case and case back are made of stainless steel.

It is powered by the Cal. 341 movement.
Compared to the Grand Seiko First, the finish and type of regulator are different, but it is also equipped with a hacking (seconds-hand stop) function.

Condition

This watch has been overhauled and the exterior has been polished.

The crystal is clean with no noticeable scratches.

The strap has been replaced with a new (genuine) cowhide leather strap, allowing you to use it with confidence.

The crown features the "S" mark.
The crown operates smoothly.

There is some aging and discoloration on the dial.

Due to its age, it is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
