商品説明
This is an automatic winding Ref. 1818 "IWC" model manufactured in 1977.
The dial has discolored over time, transforming into a soft champagne gold hue, exuding a vintage depth and luster.
The indexes are three-dimensional bar indexes, with slender hands painted black in their center, ensuring excellent visibility.
At the 12 o'clock position, the raised "IWC" logo coexists with the cursive "International Watch Co." inscription, creating a sophisticated atmosphere characteristic of the final era of Old IWC.
The case is a well-proportioned round shape, with delicate and sharp lugs forming a beautiful design.
The crown features the "fish mark," a testament to its genuine IWC origin.
The movement housed within is the "Cal. 8541B," the perfected version of the Pellaton automatic winding system.
Compared to the conventional Cal. 8531, it is thinner, equipped with a hacking (stop-seconds) function and a quick-set date function (oscillating between 23:45 and 24:00), and also supports manual winding, making it a highly practical masterpiece for modern lifestyles.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and its exterior has been refinished.
The crystal retains some minor scratches that could not be removed by polishing, but they do not impair visibility, and the crystal remains clear.
Considering the balance with the slender lugs, we selected a new calfskin strap (Cajuman) made by Morellato in Italy. Its soft texture makes it comfortable to wear immediately.
The crown operates smoothly.
As a vintage watch that has been manufactured many years ago, it is not water-resistant. Do not use it in damp environments (e.g., on rainy days, while washing your face, or when perspiring on hot days).
As a precision instrument, please be very careful about drops, strong impacts, and magnetic fields (smartphones, PCs, speakers, etc.).
How to Operate Cal. 8541B
How to pull the crown: Press a fingernail between the case and the crown and move it like a lever.
When pulling the crown, it is easier to press a fingernail between the crown and the case from the back.
Always remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Gentle operation can reduce stress on the crown and prevent it from coming out.
Manual winding: Rotate the crown upwards in its normal position.
Time setting: Pull the crown and rotate it upwards.
The second hand will stop (hacking function).
Quick-set date: Pull the crown and move the hands back and forth between "23:45 and 24:00" when setting the time.
1) Move the hands to 12 o'clock at night (24:00).
If the date changes, it is 12 o'clock at night. If it doesn't change, it is 12 o'clock noon.
2) Once you have confirmed that the date has changed, move the hands back to 23:45.
This prepares the calendar to display the next day.
3) Advance the hands to 24:00 again.
Confirm that the date has advanced by one day.
Repeat steps 1) to 3) to quick-set the date one day at a time.
Operate slowly to reduce stress on the movement.
