商品説明
This is a second-model King Seiko with a date function, released in 1965.
King Seiko was a series positioned as a top-tier watch alongside Seiko's highest-grade line, "Grand Seiko," and was produced until the 1970s.
The second model features a hack function (second-hand regulation device), which was omitted in the first model.
The adoption of a screw-back case, which screws onto the back, improved practicality (stainless steel models only).
The case design of the second model differs between the non-date "44-9990" and "49999" models, which have a robust construction with thick lugs, and this date-equipped "4402-8000" model, which features a sleek design with sculpted lugs, giving it a modern impression even after half a century.
The design of the second model's case back medallion changed in stages.
Initially, the "shield mark" of King Seiko was used, but around 1967, it was changed to a simple design that simply read "SEIKO."
This particular unit is the final model produced in 1968, featuring the Kameido (Daini Seikosha) mark below the SEIKO logo.

The dial features a radial finish, creating shades depending on the angle of light.
The movement installed is "Cal.4402A."
It is equipped with a hack function (second-hand stop function) and a calendar function (with quick-set).
This watch is recommended for those looking for an easy-to-use manual-winding antique watch.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and externally polished.
There is a tiny dent on the center of the crystal and spot-like dullness on the indices due to aging, but these do not impair practical legibility.
The bracelet is an aftermarket multi-link Jubilee type, with a maximum wrist circumference of approximately 192mm, offering a very generous fit. This is rare for a vintage watch, providing a comfortable size even for those with larger wrists.
The crown is a genuine Seiko crown with the "SW" mark. Winding the mainspring and adjusting the time and date can be performed smoothly.
The dial has deepened into a champagne gold color with age, offering an elegant expression unique to antiques.
The gold medallion on the case back is in remarkably good condition for a piece from this era, with almost no corrosion or chipping.
Due to being a delicate mechanical watch over half a century old, it is not waterproof. Use in humid environments (rainy days, while washing face, wearing on hot days with sweat, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Furthermore, as it is a precision instrument, please be very careful about strong impacts such as dropping, and magnetism (smartphones, PCs, speakers, bag magnets, etc.).
Operating Instructions
Manual winding: Rotate the crown upwards in the normal position.
Time setting: Pull the crown out to the second position and rotate downwards.
The second hand stops when the crown is pulled out to the second position.
Date quick-set: Pull the crown out to the first position and rotate downwards.
Operating the quick-set when the watch is between "9 PM and 3 AM" will cause damage.
It is recommended to set the time to around 6 o'clock before performing a quick-set.
