This is a 1976 Seiko SilverWave.

The SilverWave was a series of reinforced water-resistant watches that boasted high airtightness for Seiko at the time.
This particular model is a rare mid-1970s textured dial version equipped with the domestic automatic caliber Cal.6306A.

The case back and crown are screw-down, offering high practicality with a 100m water-resistant rating when first released.

The crown, positioned at 4 o'clock, is a design defined by functional beauty, calculated to avoid interfering with wrist movement.

The most notable feature is the intricate geometric pattern (houndstooth) on the silver dial.
The fine pattern shimmers and changes expression depending on the angle of the light, exuding a sense of luxury and individuality unique to vintage timepieces not found in modern models.

It features quick-set day/date and a hacking seconds function, making it an excellent, highly usable model.

How to Operate Caliber 6306A

Before operating the crown, please unscrew it to release it.
After operation, be sure to screw it back in securely.

Unscrewing the crown: Rotate downwards while in the normal crown position.

The crown screws in smoothly.
When screwing the crown back in, we recommend carefully finding the starting point of the thread and tightening it slowly to avoid stripping the threads.

Time setting: Pull the crown out to the second click and rotate downwards.

The second hand will stop when in the second click position (hacking function).

Quick-set date: Pull the crown out to the first click and rotate upwards.
Quick-set day: Pull the crown out to the first click and rotate downwards (displays in two languages: English/Japanese).

Operating the quick-set function while the watch hands are between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM may cause a malfunction.
It is recommended to set the time to around 6:00 before performing the quick-set operation.

Winding the mainspring: Wind by swinging the watch. There is no manual winding function.

If the watch has stopped, gently swing the watch approximately 40 times to wind the mainspring before use.

【Operating Tips and Precautions】
Because this model has a case design where the crown is slightly recessed, it is difficult to determine if it has been fully screwed in just by looking from the front. To prevent forgetting to tighten it, make it a habit after use to "look at the watch from the case back side to check that the threads are not visible." By looking from the back, you can clearly see if the crown is not fully tightened (if the threads are exposed).

Additionally, due to its unique shape, it requires a knack for using your fingernail to pull the crown out. It is truly a spec for connoisseurs who appreciate such nuances.

Condition

This watch has been overhauled.

The dial remains in excellent condition.
The crystal has some scuffs and light scratches from use, but they do not impair visibility.

The bracelet is a rare genuine SEIKO bracelet (ACTUS stamped), allowing you to enjoy a cohesive design.
It can accommodate wrist sizes up to approximately 188mm.
