商品説明
This is a Lord Marvel 36000 manufactured in 1970.
The Lord Marvel was a high-grade manual-winding wristwatch manufactured for approximately 20 years, beginning in the late 1950s.
It was positioned between the Grand Seiko and the Crown Special.
The Lord Marvel 36000 is the first Japanese-made 10-beat wristwatch.
It is a high-grade model that for the first time incorporated into a commercially available product the world-class high-beat technology that allowed Seiko to achieve the historic feat of essentially taking the top spots (sweeping 4th through 10th places) for mechanical watches at the 1968 Geneva Observatory Chronometer Competition.
The movement is the manual-winding "Cal. 5740C."
Based on the Lord Marvel's "Cal. 5740B," this is a high-beat specification with an oscillation frequency increased to 36,000 beats per hour (10 vibrations per second). The extremely smooth movement of the second hand and the pleasant ticking sound, both characteristic of high-beat movements, are the true highlights of this model.
The case is made of stainless steel, and the case back is a screw-back type.
The case features long lugs, resulting in a design that emphasizes a sleek vertical line.
The dial features a sunburst finish that displays an elegant luster depending on the angle of light. The non-date bar index design highlights the perfected functional beauty of the Lord Marvel.
While maintaining the dial's original sunburst brilliance, it has developed a deep, champagne-gold hue over the course of half a century—a beautiful look unique to vintage pieces that have aged uniformly in good condition.
Recommended for those looking for a simple and elegant antique watch.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The strap has been replaced with a brand new genuine leather strap, so you can wear it with comfort.
The crown operates smoothly.
The case has some minor scratches but remains clean.
There are no noticeable scratches on the crystal, and time visibility is excellent.
The dial shows minor spots near the 2, 4, and 8 o'clock positions and some age-related patina throughout, which gives this particular piece its own attractive character.
Being a vintage watch, it is not water-resistant. Usage in environments with moisture (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or wearing it on hot, sweaty days) is strictly prohibited.
Also, as this is a precision instrument, please be sufficiently careful regarding strong impacts such as drops, and exposure to magnetism (smartphones, PCs, speakers, magnetic clasps on bags, etc.).
Operating Instructions for Caliber 5740C
Manual Winding: Turn clockwise in the normal crown position
To wind the mainspring, turn the crown slowly and carefully in the clockwise direction.
The winding will feel light at first, but will become heavier as the mainspring reaches full tension.
Please be aware that forcing a manual-wind watch to wind once it has reached the limit can cause the mainspring to break.
Pulling out the Crown: Gently pull it out by inserting your fingernail between the case and the crown
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come off. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown stem from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Operating it gently will reduce the strain on the crown.
Setting the Time: Pull the crown out and turn counter-clockwise
