商品説明
This is a Ref. 2605-9 from 1952, inheriting the lineage of Omega's masterpiece hand-wound movement, the "30mm caliber."
Equipped in this timepiece is the Cal. 266, close to the final evolution of the 30mm caliber.
It is known as a masterpiece praised for its operational stability, derived from its excellent basic design, making it practical and highly reliable.
Its most distinctive feature is the "honeycomb (waffle) dial" with its intricate mesh texture. This highly elaborate craftsmanship from that era creates a unique three-dimensional effect not found in modern watches.
The dial has undergone an interesting aging process, with the entire surface taking on a yellowish hue. A slight white area, presumably the original color, remains near the outer edge between 12 and 1 o'clock, and the fact that the entire surface is not uniformly aged provides a unique natural charm characteristic of vintage pieces.
This particular piece features beautiful contrast between the pink gold colored raised indices and printed logo, and the yellow gold hour and minute hands, against the patina dial.
Since it is a non-date specification, there is no need to adjust the calendar, allowing you to enjoy the simple operation characteristic of a hand-wound watch.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The strap selected is CASSIS HAVRE (Teju Lizard/Brown). The fine scale pattern unique to lizard harmonizes beautifully with the waffle pattern dial, enhancing the texture of this piece to its fullest.
The case has minor scratches commensurate with its age, but the sharpness of the edges is good, and it does not appear to have been overly polished.
The crystal has some scratches that could not be removed by polishing, but there is no problem with time legibility. The Ω mark is etched in the center.
【Precautions for Use】
This timepiece is originally designed to be non-waterproof, without a case back gasket. Using it in wet environments (e.g., on rainy days, while washing your face, or wearing it on hot, sweaty days) is strictly prohibited.
As a precision instrument, please be careful of drops and strong impacts.
Also, please keep it away from objects that emit strong magnetic fields, such as smartphones, PCs, and bag clasps with magnets.
Operation Method
Manual Winding: Turn the crown clockwise in its normal position.
To wind the mainspring, slowly and carefully turn the crown upwards.
The crown may feel light at first, but it will become heavier as it approaches full winding. With hand-wound watches, forcing the winding when it's already fully wound can break the mainspring, so please do not wind it further if you feel resistance.
Pulling the Crown: Gently pull it out by inserting your fingernail between the case and the crown.
Pulling the crown too hard may cause it to come off. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent damage to the crown and to operate it gently, always remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Time Setting: Pull the crown and turn it counter-clockwise.
This watch does not have a hacking function (stop-seconds function).
