商品説明
This is a Seiko Gold Feather from 1961.
"Feather" refers to a bird's feather.
The Gold Feather was developed with the aim of creating a "watch as light as a feather."
To compete with the highly successful Citizen Deluxe, which was positioned as "Japan's thinnest, highest-grade domestic model," a completely new movement design was employed.
In general center-second movements, gears overlap in the center, making it difficult to reduce the thickness of the movement. (This is because the gears that attach the minute and second hands are co-axially overlapped.)
The Gold Feather adopted a new design that positions the gears off-center.
By avoiding gear overlap, it achieved a thin movement with a thickness of 2.95mm.
The total thickness, including the case and crystal, is only 7.8mm, offering a light and comfortable wearing experience.
The case is 14K gold-filled. The case back is a snap-back type.
14K gold-filled watches have gold layers several to tens of times thicker than plating, offering excellent durability that prevents the base metal from being exposed during daily use.
The dial has a radial finish.
The hour markers feature an elaborate design with grooves that appear to be carved with a chisel.
This watch is recommended for those looking for a thin and elegant antique watch.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The strap has been replaced with a new one (Seiko), so you can enjoy using it right away.
Due to the slender lugs, we recommend not tightening the strap too much to avoid putting excessive stress on them when worn.
The crown operates smoothly.
The entire dial has aged to a beautiful champagne gold color, adding to the unique charm of this particular timepiece.
The crystal has minor scratches that could not be removed by polishing.
This watch has a low water resistance design and is not waterproof.
It is strictly forbidden to use it in wet environments (e.g., on rainy days, when washing your face, or during hot weather when you perspire).
As a precision instrument, please be careful to avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts. Also, please keep it away from strong magnetic sources such as smartphones, PCs, and bag clasps with magnets.
Operating Instructions
Manual winding: Rotate the crown upwards in its normal position.
To wind the mainspring, rotate the crown slowly and gently upwards.
The crown will become stiffer as it winds up.
With manual winding watches, forcing the crown when it is fully wound will break the mainspring. Please be careful.
Pulling the crown: Insert a fingernail between the case and the crown and lever it out.
Please remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Gentle operation can reduce stress on the crown.
Setting the time: Pull the crown out and rotate it downwards.
The second hand does not stop.
