商品説明
This is a 61 Grand Seiko from 1968 with a cap gold finish.
The 61 Grand Seiko, introduced in 1967, was Japan's first 10-beat automatic wristwatch.
It features a next-generation automatic winding mechanism that successfully adapted Seiko's unique ratchet-type "Magic Lever" to operate at 36,000 vibrations per hour.
With a hacking function (second hand stop function), quick-set date function, and manual winding, it is an extremely practical model.
The rotor surface has a "ripple" finish, and other parts are meticulously polished, exuding the dignity characteristic of Grand Seikos from that era.
The ratchet-type "Magic Lever" is a mechanism that winds the mainspring by the left-right movement of a lever (pawl) driven by the rotation of the rotor.
It has the characteristic of higher winding efficiency compared to mechanisms that wind with gears.
Because it has fewer parts, it also boasts high durability, making it an excellent mechanism that many manufacturers have begun to adopt in recent years.
The case features a cap gold (CAP GOLD) finish.
Because the gold layer is thicker than plating, it is resistant to peeling and has the advantage of maintaining its gold luster for a long time.
On this particular piece, a small convex mark can be seen at the 2 o'clock position on the case.
Its shape suggests it might be a "spark mark" acquired when a previous owner used it in environments involving welding, giving it a powerful, vintage appearance.
By intentionally leaving it unpolished, we cherish the realism of the years this watch has lived through.
*The photos shown are taken with a macro lens, which emphasizes the marks on the case and the wear on the case back medallion. However, when viewed with the naked eye, the shine of the cap gold is more prominent, and the watch gives off a very pleasant impression. You are welcome to inspect it directly at our physical store to appreciate its unique appearance.
This watch is highly recommended for those seeking a piece that is elegant yet tells a story.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The exterior has been finished with an emphasis on preserving the original case lines, avoiding excessive polishing.
The strap has been replaced with a new genuine Seiko brown calf leather strap, making it comfortable to wear.
The crown is original and features the GS mark. It operates smoothly.
The GS medallion on the case back shows wear commensurate with its age.
Due to its age, it is not waterproof.
Use in humid environments (rainy days, washing face, wearing on hot days with perspiration, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
As it is a precision instrument, please be careful of drops or strong impacts, as well as magnetism from smartphones or PCs.
How to Operate
Manual Winding: Rotate crown upwards in normal position
Time Setting: Pull crown out to 2nd position, rotate downwards
The second hand stops when the crown is in the 2nd position
Date Quick Set: Pull crown out to 1st position, rotate upwards
Operating the quick set when the watch indicates "9 PM - 3 AM" will cause damage.
It is recommended to set the time to around 6 o'clock before using the quick set.
