商品説明
This is a 1972 (Showa 47) Grand Seiko "5646-7010".
The "56 Grand Seiko" is the final series of mechanical Grand Seikos.
It is a high-end mechanical watch that achieves thinness, compactness, and lightness while being a high-precision automatic winding timepiece.
The sophisticated GS case and dial design exude a unique elegance.
The "GS case" adopted is a classic "Seiko Style" design, composed of flat and secondary curved surfaces, used for top models.
The case back is screw-back type, featuring a gold GS medallion.
Due to aging, the dial shows an elegant and subdued color close to ivory.
It features a date and day (Japanese/English) display, a hacking seconds function, and manual winding, offering excellent practicality.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and its exterior refinished.
The quick-set date and day function, often considered a weakness of the 56 series movement, also operates normally.
The crystal has minor scuffs but no noticeable deep scratches, and visibility is good.
The band has been replaced with a new genuine Seiko leather strap, so you can enjoy using it comfortably.
The crown is genuine with the GS logo.
The engravings on the case back remain very clear, indicating minimal signs of use.
The gold GS medallion shows microscopic signs of aging (black spots) detectable under macro photography or with a loupe, but these are not noticeable to the naked eye, and it maintains good condition with its deep engraving.
As this is a vintage watch that has aged over the years since its manufacture, please treat it as non-water resistant.
Exposure to moist environments (rainy days, face washing, wearing on hot days with sweating, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Also, as it is a precision instrument, please be very careful about drops, strong impacts, and magnetism (smartphones, PCs, speakers, bag magnets, etc.).
How to Operate
Manual Winding: Turn the crown upwards in its normal position.
Time Setting: Pull the crown out two clicks and turn it downwards.
The second hand stops when the crown is pulled out two clicks.
Quick-set Date: Pull the crown out one click and turn it downwards.
Quick-set Day: Pull the crown out one click and turn it upwards (changes from English to Japanese).
Performing the quick-set operation when the watch hands are pointing between "9 PM and 4 AM" can cause damage.
It is highly recommended to set the time to a safe position around 6 AM/PM before performing the quick-set operation.
