商品説明
This is a 41-jewel automatic winding model from Million, a Swiss-made dress watch from the 1960s.
In the 1960s, during the "multi-jewel competition" era, various companies competed on the number of jewels as a symbol of luxury.
Million is a minor brand that has not left its name on the main stage today, but it was a manufacturer that put a lot of passion into watchmaking, such as creating an original model that was elevated to "41 jewels" as a unique luxury specification at the time, based on the highly reliable masterpiece ETA Cal.2452.
The base ETA Cal.2452 had gained high reliability in the Swiss watch industry at the time, and to give an example, it was also adopted in some models of Tudor (TUDOR) of the same generation. Million further polished its certain quality, chosen as a powerhouse beyond the framework of manufacturers, into its own highly designed form.
The words "FORTY-ONE 41 JEWELS" engraved on the rotor and the beautiful ruby train of the automatic winding mechanism convey the depth and pride of the Swiss watch industry at the time.
What is particularly noteworthy is the overwhelmingly beautiful design balance, which is luxuriously packed with the design elements of high-end dress watches of the time. The case adopts a big case with a width of 36.7mm, which is modern and substantial for a dress watch of that time. It features a splendid case design with elegant lines extending from the thick, refined lugs to the sides, maintaining its original form without excessive polishing.
The dial has beautifully discolored into an atmospheric champagne gold due to aging, exuding an exceptional vintage allure. In addition to a beautiful sunburst finish, it features an elaborate two-layer specification with delicate concentric (record groove-like) decorations.
The indices are based on three-dimensional bar indices, with a very cool accent provided by the wedge-shaped indices only at the 12, 3, and 9 o'clock positions.
The "M mark" and "MILLION" brand logo at the 12 o'clock position are not printed but are independent three-dimensional applied badges, which, combined with the discolored dial, create rich shadows.
The hands feature large, prominent dauphine hands, symbolizing the high-end products of that era.
The surface has a subtle hairline finish, and the slight dullness and aging characteristic of vintage items perfectly harmonize with the classic appearance of this piece.
Furthermore, by positioning the calendar window at the 6 o'clock position, it achieves a perfectly symmetrical (symmetrical) beautiful face design.
The calendar numbers are stylishly displayed with odd numbers in black and even numbers in red, alternating, showcasing a playful vintage charm where the expression changes with each day. Moreover, the crown also retains its original part with the M logo engraved.
The case back is engraved with the fish mark, an icon of waterproof cases of the time.
The case edge remains sharp, and the three-dimensional engraving, which occupies most of the case back, also maintains a very deep and clear condition.
The original tags of the time (Incabloc tag, brand tag) remain, making it a valuable condition with extremely high historical value.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
To utilize the rare genuine buckle (15mm width) with the "MILLION" engraving, we selected a new high-grade Seiko crocodile leather strap (list price 17,600 yen) of matching size. This finish, full of luxury, enhances the overall prestige of the watch without compromising its vintage originality.
[Crown] Genuine Million, with logo mark.
[Dial and Hands] Neither shows prominent burn marks or stains, and the slight dullness and aging characteristic of vintage items visible on the hairline parts of the hands create a very good atmosphere.
[Windshield] There is some abrasion on the edge near 12 o'clock and small scratches near the edge at 4 o'clock, but other than that, there are no noticeable deep scratches that would impair visibility, and overall it is in a very clear and good condition.
[Case and Case Back] There are fine scratches and minor scratches due to use, but the edges remain very sharp, strongly retaining the original form of the time.
As this is an old watch, it is not waterproof. Use in humid environments (rainy days, washing face, wearing on hot days when sweating, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Also, as it is a precision machine, please be careful of strong impacts such as drops, and magnetism (smartphones, PCs, speakers, bag magnets, etc.).
