商品説明
This is a 56 King Seiko Chronometer from 1971.
The 56 King Seiko Chronometer was the first Japanese-made automatic model to receive "Official Chronometer Certification."
Due to this official certification, the watch is a world-standard chronometer, and the dial officially features the text "CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED."
To improve water resistance, the case is a one-piece design with an integrated case back.
The case is equipped with an external fine adjustment device at the 5 o'clock position.
The back features a KS gold medallion with "CHRONOMETER" engraving.
The dial is a rare green gradation color, of which very few exist today. It features a delicate vertical hairline finish, with the beautiful emerald green color and depth of the gradation appearing vividly depending on the angle of the light.
The movement is equipped with a 28,800 bph (8-beat) high-beat mechanism.
It features a hack function (second-hand stop function) and a calendar function (with quick-set), making it highly practical.
This model is appealing for its thick and robust lugs, the chronometer-specific KS medallion on the case back, and its high level of visibility and functionality.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
To prevent thinning due to excessive polishing, the case was intentionally not subjected to heavy exterior finishing, maintaining a high-quality condition that preserves the original edge lines and hairline texture.
The crown is genuine KS, and all operations, including the quick-set calendar, are smooth.
The strap has been replaced with a brand-new Seiko one. Unlike a simple dark brown, it has a very tasteful hue with a slight reddish tint. It is an exquisite combination that further enhances the deep color of the rare green gradation dial, making it a pleasure to wear.
The glass has no noticeable scratches on the front, and the dial visibility is excellent. While colored dials are prone to aging, this one maintains a beautiful state overall with no fading. Upon close inspection, very small dotted spots can be seen, but they do not detract from the aesthetics and the watch fully maintains its vintage atmosphere.
The KS medallion on the back has one small dent, but the three-dimensional quality of the lettering remains sharp, making it in sufficiently good condition considering its age.
As this is a vintage watch, it is not water-resistant. Usage in environments with high moisture (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or wearing it on hot, sweaty days) is strictly prohibited.
Additionally, as it is a precision instrument, please be very careful to avoid strong impacts such as drops, and magnetism (smartphones, PCs, speakers, magnetic bag closures, etc.).
Operation
Hand-winding: Rotate upward in the normal crown position
Time setting: Pull the crown out to the second click and rotate downward
The second hand stops when pulled to the second click
Date quick-set: Pull the crown out to the first click and rotate downward
Day of the week quick-set: Pull the crown out to the first click and rotate upward (changes in the order of English → Japanese)
Performing a quick-set operation while the watch indicates between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM will cause a malfunction.
We recommend setting the time to around 6:00 before performing a quick-set operation.
