商品説明
This is a 1960 Ref. 14926-63 SC, powered by Omega's masterpiece manual-wind movement, the "30mm caliber."
This watch is equipped with the Cal. 285, a center-second version of the 30mm caliber.
This caliber is a notable model from the transitional period, shifting from the traditional balance wheel with timing screws to the more modern smooth balance wheel without timing screws.
The case is luxuriously finished with an exceptionally thick 80-micron gold layer (inscribed "PLAQUE OR L 80 MICRONS" on the inside of the case back), far thicker than standard plating. While the notation refers to plating in French, its 80-micron thickness is essentially "gold-filled," a heavy-duty specification that stands apart from typical gold plating.
Gold exteriors on vintage watches often suffer from peeling, but this thickness maintains a beautiful luster and a substantial form. The case back is a snap-back type.
The combination of slender hands and bar indices, which provides a sharp and intellectual impression, exudes the classical and refined elegance unique to this era.
The crown is a genuine Omega part featuring the Ω logo, preserved in beautiful condition without any noticeable wear.
Furthermore, it comes with a genuine Omega box as well as a rare genuine Omega buckle (with the Ω logo).
The non-date specification makes it easy to operate without the hassle of calendar adjustments.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The strap has been replaced with a new CASSIS cowhide leather strap (brown), ensuring comfortable use.
The dial shows very little signs of aging and remains in exceptionally clean and beautiful condition for a 1960 model.
The crystal has some extremely fine scuffs barely visible to the naked eye, but there are no issues with time legibility.
[Condition Details]
・On aging of the dial: There is slight, vintage-typical faint discoloration near the 5 o'clock index. It is not very noticeable to the naked eye and retains a natural texture that does not detract from the overall classical atmosphere.
・On hand movement: When pulling and turning the crown to set the time, there is a slight play in the hands, but the normal movement and the watch's functions/operation are perfectly fine.
・On the genuine buckle: While the genuine buckle retains its vintage charm, there is some peeling and fading of the plating on the tongue.
・On the genuine box: There is some slight dirt on the surface of the box due to aging.
[Precautions for Use]
As this is a vintage watch, it is non-waterproof. Use in humid environments (such as rainy days, washing your face, or wearing it on hot, sweaty days) is strictly prohibited.
As it is a precision machine, please be careful to avoid drops or strong impacts.
Also, please keep it away from objects that emit strong magnetism, such as smartphones, PCs, or magnets on bag clasps.
Operating Instructions
Manual Winding: Rotate clockwise in the normal crown position
To wind the mainspring, rotate the crown clockwise slowly and carefully.
The crown will feel light at the beginning, but it will become heavier as it approaches a full wind. In manual-wind watches, forcing the crown once it reaches the end will break the mainspring, so please ensure you stop winding when you feel resistance.
Pulling the Crown: Insert a fingernail between the case and the crown and pull gently
Pulling the crown too hard may cause it to come off. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown stem from bending and to ensure gentle operation, always remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Setting the Time: Pull the crown and rotate counter-clockwise
The second hand does not stop
