商品説明
This is a vintage Omega "Geneve" automatic watch, Ref. 165.041, manufactured in the late 1960s.
The "Geneve" was established as a line of dress watches characterized by their simple and elegant style.
This piece is appealing for its timeless, well-balanced appearance, featuring a warm, vintage-style gold-colored case and a clean, non-date dial.
Equipped with the Masterpiece Movement Cal. 552
The movement is the Cal. 552, a legendary caliber representing the golden age of Omega automatic watches.
The Cal. 552 is a highly reliable, full-rotor, non-date automatic movement that powered Omega's mid-range models of the time, such as the Seamaster and Geneve.
It features a non-screw balance wheel and a swan-neck regulator on the escapement for high-precision adjustments.
Additionally, it is a beautifully constructed 24-jewel movement finished with red-gold plating.
Because it lacks a calendar function, operating the watch—such as setting the time—is very simple and convenient, and the reduced risk of mechanical failure is a major benefit.
Case and Original Buckle
The case features 20-micron gold plating (PLAQUE OR G 20 MICRONS), adding a touch of glamour to your wrist.
The crown is an authentic Omega (marked with the Ω symbol), and this piece also includes an original Omega buckle, which is rare in the vintage market—a major highlight of this specific watch.
It is a vintage Omega with an elegantly attractive design.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
As this timepiece has over half a century of history, there is age-appropriate wear on the exterior and dial. Please confirm the following points in advance.
- Dial/Indices: The overall dial remains beautiful with minimal staining or discoloration; however, there is some loss or peeling of the black paint in the center of the three-dimensional bar indices.
- Case: In addition to minor scratches from use, there is some abrasion on the edge of the case back where it meets the main case. This area is not visible when worn.
- Buckle: While this is a valuable original Omega buckle, there is some age-related plating wear and corrosion with patina on the back and near the base of the prong.
Precautions for Purchase
Due to its age, this watch is not waterproof (although the case back is engraved with "WATERPROOF," it should be treated as non-waterproof).
Do not use in high-moisture environments (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or on hot, sweaty days).
As this is a precision instrument, please avoid drops and strong impacts.
Additionally, please keep the watch away from strong magnetic sources such as smartphones, PCs, and bag magnets.
Operating Instructions
How to pull the crown: Place a fingernail between the case and the crown and gently pull it out.
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come out completely. Please pull it gently.
To prevent bending the crown stem, please take the watch off your wrist before operating it.
Handling it gently will reduce stress on the crown.
Manual Winding: With the crown in the normal position, rotate it upwards (though it is an automatic watch, please wind the mainspring manually before use if it has stopped).
Setting the Time: Pull the crown out and rotate it downwards.
The watch does not have a hacking feature (second-hand stop function), so the second hand will not stop when setting the time.
