商品説明
This is a 1962 Seiko Crown Special stainless steel model.
The Crown Special was developed based on the first Grand Seiko model and released as a high-end watch for the general public.
At the time, the Grand Seiko First was priced at 25,000 yen, while the gold-plated Crown Special was 10,000 yen.
Although there are differences in design and movement specifications, it is a masterpiece that offers an excellent balance between product grade and price. This particular piece is a highly popular stainless steel model, making it easy to wear for daily use.
The dial features a sunray finish that creates beautiful shading depending on the angle of the light.
Over time, it has aged into a very beautiful, unique vintage patina, shifting from champagne gold to a yellowish hue.
It is a high-grade model with an 'SD Dial' (Special Dial), featuring indexes made of solid 18K or 14K gold.
The sun-like mark at the 6 o'clock position denotes the SD dial, and its elegant luster remains perfectly preserved.
The watch features powerful, striking dauphine hands that provide a strong presence.
The case and case back are made of all stainless steel.
It is in superb condition, with minimal rounding from excessive polishing, retaining its original sharp lug lines and crisp edges.
Furthermore, it retains the original crown with the "S" mark—a component often replaced—which shows almost no wear, further enhancing the watch's originality.
The movement equipped is the Cal.341.
While the finish of the movement and the type of regulator differ from the Grand Seiko First, it is equipped with a hacking function (second-hand stop feature).
Highly recommended for those looking for a superior quality, vintage Japanese watch.

Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The crystal has no deep or noticeable scratches and is very clear, ensuring good dial visibility.
The strap has been replaced with a new Seiko genuine cowhide leather strap, so you can wear it with comfort.
Crown operation is smooth.
In addition to the beautiful aging of the dial, there are small dot-like stains near the 5 and 11 o'clock markers, and a small mark near the 8 o'clock index. These are not noticeable to the naked eye and do not detract from the overall vintage atmosphere.
As this is an old watch, it is not water-resistant. Usage in environments with moisture (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or on hot, sweaty days) is strictly prohibited.
As this is a precision instrument, please be careful to avoid drops or strong impacts.
Also, please keep it away from strong magnetic sources such as smartphones, PCs, or magnetic bag clasps.
Operation
Manual Winding: With the crown in the standard position, rotate upwards (clockwise).
To wind the mainspring, please turn the crown slowly and carefully in the upward direction.
It will feel light at the beginning, but will become heavier as the spring reaches full tension.
Please be careful, as forcing a manual-wind watch past its full-wind point can break the mainspring.
Pulling the Crown: Insert a fingernail between the case and the crown and pull gently.
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to detach. Please pull gently.
To prevent the crown stem from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating it.
Handling with care will reduce the burden on the crown.
Setting the Time: Pull the crown out and rotate (the second hand will stop).
