商品説明
Manufactured in 1959, this is an automatic model of the "International."
It features a "big case" with a diameter of 36.3mm.
It is one size larger than other IWC models from the same period, giving it a powerful presence.
The fluid lines connecting the case to the lugs were adopted as a hallmark IWC case design leading into the 1960s.
Its charm lies in the refined, uncluttered appearance typical of an "Old International" dress watch.
The "International Watch Co." signature in script at the 12 o'clock position on the dial evokes a sense of vintage character.
The perimeter of the dial features pearl dots (embedded metal spheres), a high-cost design element seen in IWC watches of this era.
They emit a beautiful luster without appearing gaudy, creating an elegant atmosphere.
The hands are robust dauphine hands, which add to its presence.
The crown is a clean, non-logo dress crown.
Crown operation is smooth.
Equipped with the Pellaton automatic movement "Cal. 853."
First introduced in 1958, the "Cal. 853" is considered the "perfected Pellaton automatic movement."
It is a legendary, robust design known for its excellent shock resistance, winding efficiency, and durability due to its unique winding mechanism.
It does not originally have a hacking seconds (stop-seconds) function.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and the exterior has been polished.
A brand new Di-Modell strap has been fitted, so you can enjoy wearing it comfortably immediately after purchase.
There is some discoloration and spotting on the outer edge of the dial due to aging.
Having endured the long passage of time since the late 1950s, it possesses a deep, tasteful patina unique to a vintage watch with an original dial.
While the case has some minor scratches that could not be removed by polishing and tiny scratches consistent with its age, it has not been over-polished, and the edges of the lugs remain relatively sharp.
As this is an older watch, it is non-waterproof. Please avoid using it in environments exposed to moisture (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or on days when you may sweat).
Also, as it is a precision instrument, please be careful of strong impacts such as drops and magnetism (smartphones, PCs, speakers, bag magnets, etc.).
How to operate the Cal. 853
How to pull out the crown: Push your fingernail between the case and the crown and use it like a lever.
When pulling out the crown, it is easier if you push your fingernail between the crown and the case from the back side.
Please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
By operating it gently, you can reduce the strain on the crown and prevent it from pulling out too far.
Manual winding: Rotate upwards while the crown is in the normal position.
To wind the mainspring, please turn the crown upward slowly and carefully.
Setting the time: Pull out the crown and rotate upwards.
The second hand does not stop.
