商品説明
This is a slim vintage wristwatch by Universal Genève from around 1970.
It is equipped with Universal's signature in-house ultra-thin manual-winding movement, the "Cal. 42," which is just 2.45mm thick.
The case features an elegant tonneau shape that feels reminiscent of the company's classic "Shadow" line, with a width of 34.5mm (excluding the crown) and a length of 37.7mm (including the lugs), offering a comfortable fit on the wrist.
The dial is a champagne gold color with a delicate vertical hairline finish. It features a minimal, dignified dress design with ultra-fine bar indices and hands.
The crown is original and features the "U" mark.
Despite being a slim model, the back of the case is curved to make winding easier.
To pull out the crown, it is easiest to insert a fingernail between the case and the crown from the back side.
(Using a lever-like motion)
Recommended for those seeking an elegant vintage dress watch.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The strap has been replaced with a new leather strap by Morellato, so you can wear it with comfort.
The buckle is an original Universal piece. (Both the buckle and crown show signs of aging, but they retain their valuable original specifications.)
The dial remains in very beautiful condition for a non-waterproof model, with only slight signs of aging visible on the edges.
There is a scratch on the side of the case near the 2 o'clock position, but there is no peeling of the plating. The crystal has been polished, but a faint linear scratch remains near the 12 o'clock position that could not be fully removed. Overall, you can enjoy the distinctive character of a vintage timepiece.
This is a non-waterproof vintage dress watch from an era when gaskets were not used. Use in environments with high moisture (such as on rainy days, while washing your face, or on hot, sweaty days) is strictly prohibited.
※In particular, due to its ultra-thin structure, this model is significantly more susceptible to magnetism and humidity than standard vintage watches.
Please be sure to keep it away from strong magnetic sources such as smartphones, PCs, and magnetic bag closures. Furthermore, please note that failures caused by water submersion, improper operation, or magnetization are not covered under warranty, so please handle it with care.
Operating Instructions
Manual winding: With the crown in the normal position, rotate upwards.
To wind the mainspring, please rotate the crown slowly and carefully in the upward direction.
It will feel light at the beginning, but will become firmer as the spring reaches full tension.
Please be careful; if you continue to force the crown once the watch is fully wound, the mainspring may snap.
How to pull the crown: Insert your fingernail between the case and the crown and pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown stem from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operation.
Operating it gently helps reduce the stress on the crown.
Setting the time: Pull out the crown and rotate downwards.
