商品説明
This is the second model of King Seiko with a date display, released in 1965.
King Seiko is a series positioned as a top-tier watch alongside Seiko's highest-grade watch, "Grand Seiko," and was manufactured until the 1970s.
The second model features a hacking function (second-hand stopping mechanism), which was omitted in the first model.
By adopting a screw-back case, the watch's practicality has been improved (stainless steel models only).
The case design of the second model varies: the non-date models "44-9990" and "49999" have a robust build with thick lugs, while this date model "4402-8000" features a sleek design with sculpted lugs.
Even half a century later, it remains a modern design.
The case back medallion of the second model underwent design changes in stages.
Initially, the King Seiko "shield mark" was used, and around 1967, it was changed to a simple design with only "SEIKO" written on it.
This particular piece is a final model manufactured in 1968, with the Kameido (Daini Seikosha) mark below the SEIKO logo.

The dial features a sunray finish, creating shadows depending on the angle of light.
It is equipped with the "Cal.4402A" movement.
It features a hacking function (second-hand stop function) and a calendar function (with quick-set).
It is recommended for those looking for a practical hand-wound antique watch.
Operation
Manual winding: Rotate the crown upwards in the normal position
Time setting: Pull the crown out two clicks and rotate downwards
The second hand stops when the crown is pulled out two clicks.
Date quick-set: Pull the crown out one click and rotate downwards
Operating the quick-set while the watch is pointing between '9 PM and 2 AM' will cause damage.
It is recommended to set the time to around 6 o'clock before operating the quick-set.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and externally polished by our store.
