This is a hand-wound version of the "Chronomaster," a flagship luxury model produced by Citizen at the time with the goal of achieving the highest level of precision.
Because Japan was not yet a member of the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), this special name, "Chronomaster," was given instead of marking the dial with "Chronometer." This episode reflects the confidence and passion Citizen had for its technology at the time.
The dial features a silver sunray finish that creates beautiful expressions depending on the light. The applied "CITIZEN" logo at 12 o'clock and the "Eagle mark," the symbol of the Chronomaster, at 6 o'clock tell the story of this watch's proud history.
As a non-date model, there is no need to adjust the calendar, allowing you to use it with ease. Its elegant, calm, and sharp design will elevate your look regardless of the occasion.
How to operate
Hand-winding: Rotate upwards while the crown is in its normal position.
To wind the mainspring, please turn the crown slowly and carefully in an upward direction.
The crown will become firmer as the mainspring is wound.
Please be aware that forcing the crown once the mainspring is fully wound can cause it to snap.
How to pull the crown: Insert a fingernail between the case and the crown and use a levering motion.
Please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
Operating gently will reduce the strain on the crown.
Time setting: Pull the crown out and rotate downwards.
The second hand will stop.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled and the exterior has been refinished.
The crystal has been replaced with a brand new original part and is in excellent condition.
The strap has been replaced with a new one (by Morellato), so you can enjoy wearing it with comfort.
The gold eagle medallion on the case back is free of noticeable scratches and remains in beautiful condition.
Due to its age, this watch is not water-resistant.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Please also be mindful of shocks and magnetism.
