Citizen Super Deluxe Ref. 1507092
Manufactured in 1962, the Citizen Super Deluxe is the pinnacle of Citizen's dress watches.
It was created as a high-end version of the "Citizen Deluxe," which was a massive hit at the time for being touted as the thinnest domestically produced wristwatch in Japan.
The "Three-Star Mark": A Symbol of Citizen's Finest
The three-star mark located at the 6 o'clock position on the dial indicates that this piece is a "specially adjusted product," refined by master technicians from among Citizen's high-end items of that era. It is a mark of the highest quality, reserved only for special models boasting superior precision.
The movement features a special 5-position adjustment, evidenced by the "SPECIALLY ADJUSTED" engraving on the case back and its beautiful rose gold-plated finish. It stands as proof of a special timepiece crafted with the culmination of technical expertise.
A Design Blending Presence and Elegance
The true appeal of this model lies in its striking design. It features a large 36.5mm diameter case with lugs thicker than standard, giving it a strong presence despite being an antique watch. The case is finished with a thick 80-micron 14K gold-filled layer; because this thick plating is resistant to peeling, it retains its beautiful luster, which is a welcome feature.
The dial features a sunburst finish that shines elegantly depending on the angle of light. The "Citizen Super Deluxe" logo in elegant script is placed at the 12 o'clock position. The combination of slender, long bar indices and classic dauphine hands creates a simple yet sophisticated atmosphere.
With its exquisite balance of a dressy yet powerful aesthetic, this is a masterpiece recommended for those seeking a truly special watch.
Operation Instructions
How to pull the crown: Press a fingernail into the space between the case and the crown and use it like a lever.
Pulling the crown too forcefully may cause it to come out. Please pull it out gently.
To prevent the crown from bending, please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
Operating it gently reduces stress on the crown.
Manual Winding: Turn clockwise in the standard crown position.
Time Setting: Pull the crown out and turn counter-clockwise.
The second hand does not stop.
Condition
This watch has been overhauled.
The leather strap has been replaced with a new one from CASSIS, so you can wear it with comfort.
There is wear and plating loss on the crown, and tool marks/nicks on the side of the case back at the 9 o'clock position.
The dial has small scratches and some dirt, but for a non-waterproof model, it is in relatively clean condition.
As this is a vintage watch, it is not waterproof.
Please avoid wearing it on rainy or hot days.
Also, please be careful to protect it from shocks and magnetism.
