The "SBGR023" is a highly practical mechanical Grand Seiko, combining a sharp black dial with robust stainless steel.

This particular model, equipped with the renowned "Caliber 9S55" which has boasted high reliability since its introduction in 1998, was manufactured in 2008. With a superb case size of 37mm, it is a standard model that offers excellent fit and wearing comfort on the wrist.

The sapphire glass is resistant to scratches, which is a significant advantage.
The anti-reflective coating on the inner surface ensures excellent dial legibility.

The movement is the automatic "Caliber 9S55".

Condition

This item has completed a complete service at the manufacturer on April 27, 2026. It has passed water resistance testing and comes with a one-year manufacturer's repair warranty from the completion date.

[Extensive accompanying documents]
Although the original manufacturer's warranty card is not included, the repair invoice from this complete service clearly shows "Purchase date: October 29, 2008" as an official manufacturer's record.
Also included are the original "Chronometer Certificate," "price tag," original box, instruction manual, and maintenance handbook. With the remaining one-year manufacturer's warranty from the recent manufacturer's complete service, this item offers peace of mind.

[Confirmation of certificate serial number matching]
The "Chronometer Certificate" accompanying this product not only records the case serial number but also the movement (mechanism) serial number and detailed test results from manufacturing.
To confirm and photograph whether the movement serial number of this particular unit perfectly matches the certificate, the case back was opened once.

As a result, the serial numbers matched perfectly. Furthermore, the extremely tight sealing structure (design philosophy) demanded by GS at the time was functioning effectively, confirming that despite being a unit that has been in practical use, there was not a single sign of rust in the gasket groove, indicating an excellent condition.
Afterward, to maintain the best sealing condition, the manufacturer was requested to reseal it using new gaskets.

[Exterior condition]
The sapphire glass itself is free of scratches and in good condition.
The case (especially the mirror-polished parts such as the sides), bezel, and bracelet have minor scratches and hairline scuffs from use (please check the detailed condition in the provided images).
There are also scratches on the crown head, but the crown operates smoothly.

The bracelet is genuine Grand Seiko and can accommodate a wrist size of up to 185mm.

Manual winding: Rotate upwards with the crown in the normal position.
 

How to pull the crown: Press a fingernail between the case and the crown, and move it like a lever.

Please remove the watch from your wrist before operating.
Gentle operation can reduce stress on the crown.

Time setting: Pull the crown out two clicks, rotate downwards.

The second hand will stop.

Quick-set date function: Pull the crown out one click, rotate upwards.

If you operate the quick-set function when the watch is between '10 PM and 1 AM', it may cause a malfunction.
It is recommended to set the time to around 6 AM before performing the quick-set operation.
